A s a solo traveler, grand view hotel worked very well because of its location.
Walkable distance from subhash chawal, next to a taxi stand .
The staff Kuldeep helped me get a taxi driver Vikas, who took me to Daiyankund peak and khaijjiar . A safe driver and he intern got me guide Rashid Khan for hiking Ganji Pahari and to navigate Chamba.
Entire staff at the restaurant were always very welcoming and Manager Mr. rana always ensured I was well taken care of.
Server Akshay became my buddy during breakfast and dinners.
I enjoyed my visits to Spa where Monica and Nadeem took good care of my requests from massage to pedicure to facial etc
There is a friendliness in the staff that is cultivated by owners specially Mrs Radhika who visited every guest every night at dinner .
Food - home Ike , not too oily and spice level just right
Variety - amazing
I was able to avail other services like laundry etc as well.
One more point to note is the view - pir pinjal mountain range in front of you every morning !

Local siteseeing , Dhainkund and khajjiar trip was awesome but I suggest that Sach pass trip is quite risky travelling in the month of August and September as due to rainy season and landslides. Many people go there with the expectation of snow view but there is nothing there at this time .

Great location. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay. All the staff especially Suraj,Aarti and others were incredibly helpful and generous. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Food (breakfast and dinner) was delicious and service was attentive and efficient. Overall it was a wonderful stay.

Nice place for weekend holidays.
Nice place for weekend holidays. On weekends it gets little crowded, but still enjoyable. If someone wants to cover other parts of Himachal also, I would suggest 1-2 day would be enough for Dalhousie. Its best suited for family or couple vacations. Not much to do if you are coming for adventure trekking.

Its beautiful of course but the hill station is very poorly maintained. Dainkund Peak is terrific, but Khajjiar is so dirty. The lake there is dry, the bathrooms are dirty, the restaurants are too close for comfort and also unhygienic. The road to Khajjiar is very bad. The worst place is Saatdhara falls (they dont exist) and Panchpula (absolutely nothing there). Garam Sadak was disappointing too, but still alright. The church at Subhash Chowk is OK....nothing great. We actually thought we spent one day extra. Two full days are more than enough.

Mr. Rajesh was very co-operative person & Mansingh who is in restaurant is also a very good guy. Hotel is at very nice location, rooms are spacious & very clean. I am totally satisfied & next time whenever I go to Dalhousie I will stay in this hotel only. They also have enough parking place.
One of the best hotel in Dalhousie which is located just 4 km before the mall road. From the hotel property, to the rooms decoration and the facilities provided within there, from their restaurant area to their foods and services. The views throughout the room, everything was just perfect.
