Food is really good at a Sri Lakkshmi Restaurant near South Gate of Sri Nataraja Temple.
Buses are easily available but be aware of Mal practices of Auto Drivers.
Most people speak Tamil only so it's slightly difficult to communicate with them but one can manage.
