What a fantastic hotel! Beautiful building throughout. Lovely cool big rooms. Great swimming pool and grounds. The staff are so warm, friendly and very helpful. The food is superb. I took two early morning cycle rides with Shiva around the local villages and these were superb too - Shiva was a local expert and showed us some very interesting places. A relaxing stay in first rate heritage hotel.

While restoration and renovation work has been done, the property still maintained its authentic charm. Many write ups were available for guests to read about paintings, photos and artefacts.

Very warm and welcoming staff who took a lot of initiative in understanding food preferences and making suggestions. Special appreciation for Kennedy who took care of our meals and made sure we were comfortable. Food was freshly prepared, our preferences were asked in advance- very efficient and minimal wastage.

Pool was very well maintained. I liked that the hotel did not have a tv set, it truly enabled us to switch off and be present. Staff also provided anti mosquito burners - they were really effective and these burners didn't have a foul smell.

Nothing,food basic ,virtually no English spoken.no credit card facilities unless you had an Indian phone with banking app .Cut our stay sho rt,no help with tours.They did manage to. Organise a taxi to Pondicherry for us
