Great alternative to nanital as it is less busier. Good hiking trails, temples and viewing spots to explore. Boating available at the lake with a Cafe to eat at in the middle of the lake. Perfect for a getaway weekend.

Honestly, Bhimtal doesn't have much in itself.
Honestly, Bhimtal doesn't have much in itself. It can be considered as a peaceful sied location or getaway from the busy Nainital. Most people take a day trip to bhimtal while staying in nainital. However, we did the opposite. Since stays are cheaper, we stayed in Bhimtal and took day trips to Nainital, Kainchi Dham and Mukteshwar. Bhimtal is very peaceful, and has a few lakes with boating and basic activities. All major places are about 1 hr away. You can definitely plan for a peaceful and relaxing holiday here.

Incase you are expecting this to be a proper hill station...
Incase you are expecting this to be a proper hill station then u r wrong, this is more of village with few good options to stay and few good restaurants. One of the good hotel where u can stay is Sarovar Portico. Best time to visit is winters otherwise u will find very hot weather throughout the year and practically nothing to do except few sports activity.

The cottage is situated on one of the best place of Bhimtal. You can enjoy the serene beauty in it's most natural way!!
The rooms are spacious, clean and gives home like feeling.. it's a 3 storey cottage and all the 3 floors are very well designed by the owner.
The caretaker couple takes care of each of your requirements and prepares best of meals.
Stay and meals both are very budget friendly. Do try their cutlet with pahadi chutney.
The charges are very nominal compare to other places.
We stayed in 3 bedroom villa.
Booking.com mentioned to make the payment at the time of arrival but done one named bhagwan called us to make the payment just after 1/2 an hour of booking the hotel. I told him that ill make the payment in sometime after consulting my husband. Bhagwan called me again after 1 hour.. and he kept on calling me again and again so i had to cancel my booking. And i didnt go to this hotel.
I travel frequently I never came across like this property of you wanna enjoy the British Architecture with a blend of kumaon essence ,The best was whole family had the best time ,staff and owner was helpfull and a happy fellow
