Everything! This is an amazing building in a village which has 125 temples - it really needs to be seen to be believed. The property is a few minutes walk from the main attraction (the Durga temple) but is absolutely surrounded with other ancient sites dating to the Chalukya era - it’s right in front of the hill fort which is an easy climb to view the sunset. It’s near the other Chalukya places of interest at Pattadakkal and Badami. And this is certainly the most interesting hotel to stay in. Great food and it’s very clean. Staff really helpful.

Unbelievable place to stay in Badami. I have been a frequent visitor to Badami and have tried many hotels. But this place is really awesome to stay. Caretaker Mr.Rajput is down to earth and takes good care of the visitors. Room, bed, pillows and spreads were very tidy-fresh and bathroom was damn clean. Felt at home. The kitchen and the hall were very modern. Will be my only place to stay at Badami henceforth!!

The best homestay in India I have stayed so far. The host, Mr. Manjunatha, is an exceptionally helpful and attentive person who does his best to make the stay comfortable. He even bought a bus ticket for me with his Indian phone number and kept me informed about my bus even after my departure from his house. His family prepares a home-made food that is wonderful. The facilities, the room, the private bathroom are well maintained and very clean. Definitely recommendable.

Location was just outside of town so it was close enough to be convenient yet far away enough from the traffic and congestion. Property appears well maintained although there were a lot of bugs around, probably due to the garden setting. They provide travel service such as car, guide and rickshaw. Breakfast has a different made-to-order item every day such as eggs or dosa.

Badami is an excellent sight to view the development of Indian (Hindu) architecture, from cave carvings to built temples. Nearby sites at Aihole and Pattadakal are also worth seeing for temple architecture. Since I had extra time, I spent a day in Bijapur (2.5 hours drive from Badami), very good views of the Gol Gumbaz, Ibrahim Rauza, and Bara Kaman.

It's an excellent place with beautiful cave temples, unique Bhoothnath temple on serene Agastya lake edge, a nice trek through beautiful rocks and temples. Worth spending 2 days and learning about part of Indian history and soak in some beautiful monuments.

Badami is best option to stay for 2 nights so that you can cover Pattadakal and Aihol, too, with enough time being spend to understand the history behind the monument and sculptures, in detail. It's advisable to cover monuments in 2 slots due to peak heat and humidity during noon.....(Morning 9 to 12 and evening 4 to 5:30).

Badami is famous for the cave temples.
Badami is famous for the cave temples. There are 5 caves (4 man-made and 1 natural). It also has a lake and few temples, fort. Overall one can spend 3-4 hours covering all these places. It is recommended to hire a guide while visiting the caves. There are other historical sites like Pattadakal, Aihole, Mahakuta which can be included as part of the visit.

Rooms were neat and clean.
Rooms were neat and clean. Had issues with the TV which was resolved by replacing the same.
Food was good and reasonably priced. The lady manager was extremely helpful and hospitable.
Only drawback was that the staff sleeping in the reception room flatly refused to help with our luggage during checkout at 6.00 am. Had to do it myself.
After having settled our dues on the earlier evening, we got a call that we had not paid for the ‘dinner’ on the day we had checked out of the hotel early morning!! Anyway, that was settled without much argument.
Rest good hotel and is recommended.

Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal is a perfect holiday...
Badami, Aihole and Pattadakal is a perfect holiday destination to know about of fantastic and rich history. A 2 day relaxing trip is sufficient to cover all the three places
if you do not have your own vehicle, try the local auto's to get around places in Badami. To visit Aihole and Pattadakal you can also hire an auto for the whole day for approx 1500 rupees
There are small eateries in Aihole and Pattakal which sell local cuisine (Jowar roti with accompaniments). A more wider cuisine can only be found at Badami town
To better appreciate the history, take help of a guide at all these places
