There is a very bustling market as well as iconic restaurants within walking distance. And the hotel staff/ owner is very very service-oriented and efficient. Amritsar is a great place to visit. Golden temple, jalinwala baug, partition museum, market near golden temple are great places to visit. There are many places were you can eat tasty food. Kesar dhaba, bharwan da dhaba ( there are two restaurants. Old near golden temple is good) are some good restaurants. You can plan 2 complete days to cover Amritsar. One must go to Attari- wagha border for evening show. Its a amazing vibrant atmosphere which is full of patriotism. Its easy to travel in Amritsar by electric auto rickshaws. weather was pleasantly cold in November.

Excellent city; awake 24 hours. Totally safe for tourists including women. Paradise for foodies and shoppers. Locals are lion-hearted. Everybody in the world must visit Amritsar at least once in their lives. The lucky ones will keep going there again and again.

The Partition Museum is superb - well put together, lots of visual testimonies of those times, the exhibits are first class and been accumulated from home and abroad.
A good one to two hours. 250 for foreigners
We used King Bar for our alcoholic pleasure - a dingey looking place but comfy and serving good, reasonably priced food too which was always presented as if coming from a 5* hotel kitchen! Worth seeking out

I visited after 10 years and the crowds have increased multiple folds .....everyone crowds the Heritage street however I think all public monuments should be charged more money as crowds don't respect what our freedom fighters did or any respect for history.

Nice place to visit for one day in October month.
Nice place to visit for one day in October month. All the peoples are very much kind, soft-spoken. All the places like Attari-Wagah Border, Golden Temple, Durgiana Temple, Jalianwala Bag etc are there. One full day is enough to visit these places.
N.B.:- Try to visit Golden Temple in night rather than morning. It will be more pleasant to visit, excellent to see the lights and not crowded also.
