Coast Rosslare Strand, hotel in Walsheslough

Situated in Rosslare, 300 metres from Rosslare Beach, Coast Rosslare Strand features accommodation with a terrace, free private parking and a bar.

I requested a room either close to a lift or on the ground floor. My booking was made a few days before. When I arrived at about 8pm on the day of check-in I was told that the lift had stopped working the day before and my room was therefore not ready! The manager came to talk to me, and even though I accepted, this I couldn't understand why they waited until I arrived to sort out a room for me. There were quite a few children running amok in the lobby area from when we arrived @ 8pm until when we were going to our room at about 11pm. There was no effort made by either staff or parents to keep them a bit quieter. To get to our room we had to use our door cardkey to unlock the double door from the lobby to the corridor the rooms were on. The key pad wasn't working and we had to wait for over half an hour for it to be sorted so we could get to our room. The room we were allocated was on the ground floor so that was ok but it had a fully functioning disabled bathroom which is not what I wanted. I just requested a room close to a lift or on the ground floor because I have mobility issues. The bathroom floor was filthy and there was rust marks beside the toilet and wash hand basin. The left tap on the wash hand basin spun around and there was no hot water to wash my face or teeth. The room was so cold we had to wear our socks in bed to try warm up. The bed was comfy but the rest of the room wasn't very clean and appeared to be a room which was not really in use and they just got it ready because of the lift situation. There was a kettle and coffee supplies but no milk so we couldn't have a coffee in the morning. The bar area was fairly cold and we sat in a bay window whilst we had something to eat and there was a lot of draughts in that area. The food was very nice. I would never stay in the hotel again. Saying that the staff were lovely and very nice to us and always had a smile on their faces.
