This was our third time staying at Ardagh. It’s a wonderful gem in Clifden. The owners and staff are WONDERFUL. The views are BEAUTIFUL and the food is OUTSTANDING. The bathrooms had been updated since we stayed last time and they were much nicer. We loved the lounge area and the smell of the fire. We loved the resident dog and enjoyed sitting outside with a cocktail.

Very comfortable good sized room. Hotel central to the downtown area. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was quite nice even for not having custom cooked items. Free car parking on street and garage right across the street. Would definitely book here again.

It is a beautiful village on what feels like the edge of the world, surrounded by beautiful beaches, wonderful nature colours in a perfect setting. Perfect for group, family or solo trips. Great variety of pubs and eating choices in Roundstone village itself. I will be back for another visit and I will recommend to my friends too. Its a long drive over from Dublin but 100% worth it

I am biased because my mother came from there, but I can't imagine a more beautiful place. We ate at the very friendly Shamrock Bar and also at O'Dowds seafood restaurant and O'Dowd's cafe. It is a great small village, founded by Alexander Nimmo in the nineteenth century, so full of colourful terraced Victorian houses and easy to talk round . It has spectacular views of the mountains and sea.

Roundstone has maintained its laid back appeal over the 50+ years I have been going there. it never fails. The various bars and eating places are all of a very high standard. the local beaches are probably the finest in the world and the surrounding countryside is stunning.

Roundstone is a small, pretty place so with not much to offer for longer stays. The location of the hotel a short distance from Roundstone was ideal for guaranteed peace and quiet. We found our three night stay was just enough to cover the area, including Clifden, the Sky Road, Kylemore Abbey & Gardens, Kilary Fjiord/Cruise.
Because of Covid restrictions we opted to eat in the Hotel each evening. The food was excellent.

A pleasant and pretty village, although rather over packed by visitors, of which we of course were a part!
The pottery shop at the far end of the village has some lovely products, and the potter a most delightful, friendly and pleasant man.

Roundstone is a nice size of a town with a small harbour, a few shops, restaurants and pubs. Nice beaches close by, in walking distance and a good pottery store at the old monastery. It is quiet a reserved location to visit and the people are very friendly.

The pictures don't do it justice!
Rooms all en-suite, large kitchen, and fabulous sunny garden with bbq and outdoor eating area.
Location was perfect - in core of Roundstone village, lots of parking, close to pubs, shops and harbour.
Also, playground across the road for children.
It was the perfect base for a family group to explore Connemara.
Great to be able to walk to great pubs in the evening!
A grand old 19th century house, full of unusual furniture and artifacts and steeped in the family history of the host, Richard, Duc de Stacpoole. Ten minutes walk into Roundstone, the nearest village, where you will find bars, restaurants and a general store and a 20 minute drive to nearest town Clifden. Also easy access to all corners of the beautiful Connemara countryside.
Location fabulous if you like rugged and wild and remote. Lovely gardens.
Hotel staff were very caring and the hotel beautifully furnished, particularly the downstairs lounge and dining room.
Breakfast and evening meal exceptional. Food wonderful. A harpist played in the dining room in the evening.
Dog friendly.
