Many personal positives… Location, Peace and quiet. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room and availability of top-ups in the sitting room. also having the ability to regulate the heat myself was a big plus.
Situated in the heart of Dublin city centre in a historic building, The Gresham Hotel benefits from its own restaurant 'Toddy's', and a bar.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Gresham, and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, providing all the comforts one could ask for. The amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect for exploring the city.
A special mention goes to the porter, Stephen, who truly made our stay memorable. His warm and friendly demeanor, coupled with his extensive knowledge of the local area, provided us with excellent tips on must-visit locations and attractions. Thanks to Stephen, we were able to explore some hidden gems that we would have otherwise missed.
Overall, I highly recommend The Gresham for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The exceptional service and attention to detail make it a standout choice
The Temple Bar Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Dublin’s 2 main shopping streets, Grafton Street and Henry Street. It offers comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi and modern Irish cuisine.

I liked that the village was very walkable and I could even walk to and from Dublin City Centre from there ( a long walk if you are not a frequent walker). Rathgar itself had a lovely bookstore, an awesome antiques shop, conveniences and welcoming pubs. I recommend Brady's (a 10 minute walk from my guesthouse), and The 108, which was a 5 minute walk for me. Both these pubs had very good food and atmosphere.

Will we stay again?
Will we stay again? Probably but maybe only for 1-2 nights maximum, and not 5.
Lets face it , dublin is expensive. You cant ask for 5star, yet it was disasspointing to not have the room cleaned half the time and that you had to ask for room cleaning ( something you only know once you are in the room ).
There is no staff, it is unmanned; there is a sink in the room not in the toilet; the room is small . This we knew beforehand , so zero complaints there.
The TV, only a few local channels worked, but we werent there to watch tv anyway.
The ammenities were good and fair and the bed was good. Staff over the phone was helpful.

Away from hustle & bustle of Dublin City centre.
Away from hustle & bustle of Dublin City centre. Good local cafes, bars, restaurants & shops + short walk or bus to Terenure or Rathmines for more choice.
City centre is only quick bus journey, (use a leep card to save money) away for tourist destinations & night life.

Totally unorganized. They sent me my codes after I left. I also received an email that I was never there. The room was not clean and the location is far from downtown. I would not recommend this place

Excellent value for money, clean and comfortable and well located. A few minor issues, the numbers on the press pad on the front door were difficult to see, there was stale water in the kettle and the coffee machine and there was not enough towels. Parking was on a first come basis butI was too late to get it. All in all, this was a very pleasant experience and I would have no hesitation reccomding no 9 as a good place to stay

Great house to stop in - clean, comfortable and a little shared kitchenette to make yourself breakfast or some toast/ light snack in the evening.
Would be perfect as a base if you were stopping for a good few days in Dublin or for a gang of you for a wedding or other event.
Owner and staff lovely and very helpful.
Alan made us feel very welcome and had thought of everything to settle us in . Very good information on local restaurants, supermarkets and an easy bus ride into the centre of Dublin. Rathgar is a very safe and lovely suburb and very quiet. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.
Basic guesthouse type room. All self check in codes for main door and room provided before checkin. Limited parking at rear 2-3 cars max. Room small but comfortable..no breakfast provided however.
Great value with free parking in the lovely village/suburb of Rathgar a few kilometres south of the city centre. After a coffee in Rathgar we took the 10 minute bus ride into the city centre.
