Owners were very personable and welcoming. Large yurt tent. Toilet block very near to our tent, number 5. Full use of kitchen was very good facility to have when not able to eat outside. Log burner in the yurt was very effective, bed very comfortable. Loved visits from Dynamo the cat.

there are beautiful beach walks in the area but it takes some driving to get to them. It is a major golfing destination so very good for that. We are not golfers.
We had a good time there with good beach walks. It is a remote area. We would have no reason to return.

The perfect base for exploring North Donegal, close enough to Glenveagh National Park, Fanad lighthouse (via Harry Blaney Bridge) and Inishowen Peninsula (via ferry from Rathmullan)
Ards Forest Park (and Friary) only 20 mins away is well worth a visit, the coastal walk from Friary leads to the most spectacular secluded beaches
There are two wonderful beaches, Tra Beag in the town and Tra Mor just outside.
Plenty of places to eat with two hotels in the village, plus Fisks for Sea food, The Galley for Gourmet Burgers, Goose and Gander for Pizza, as well as the Singing Pub just outside the village (Steak on the Stone)

The beaches were beautiful, you could go for lovely long walks, and with 2 dogs with us, this was great. Ards Forest Park was lovely and worth many visits. We ate in the Singing Pub a number of times, food was excellent. Takeaways from the Goose and Gander very good. Golf at Rosapenna Golf Courses challenging and enjoyable. Altogether a great week in Downing’s. We will be back, hopefully.

We had a lovely time in Downings except for the weather but as we are from Belfast we are used to it. It is a very scenic place very down with nature which is a lovely change. There are very few shops most of the town seems to be closed which is a pity. Having transport is a must, you can travel around, we weren't able to see things due to the weather but there is nothing you can do about that.
This property was perfect from start to finish, it was clean, warm and spacious, with amazing views and lots of nice little touches. Seamus was very informative and helpful. Location was perfect, it was a short walking distance from Downings but there were no issues getting taxis. There is an information guide in the property that gives lots of details about local amenities, taxi numbers, local restaurant menus etc. which was very useful. This was my second time staying and I'll definitely be back to stay again.
Mairead was a super host nothing was any trouble extremely helpful. We had a great break in the Downings the accommodation is clean and very central, and convenient to all the restaurants and shops. All information on the area was readily available to us. Mairead told us about local restaurants, walks and sightseeing places to visit. I would definitely recommend this accommodation it was a very enjoyable break!
it was self caring but all cooking pots ,pans plates etc were provided for use with a beautiful patio upstairs and a barbecue downstairs. Accomadation within 3minutes walk of a very clean beech ,shops 2 hotels nearby and local resturant excellent walking opportunities nearby
Modern and cosy apartment very well
kitted out. Lots of space and the views are amazing. Great value for 4+ adults.
Excellent location overlooking Downings.
Will definitely look to stay here again when back in the area for golf.
