Lovely heritage town, well kept with some nice eateries and pubs. Some nice walks to be had. Our stay wasn’t long enough to see everything so we will be back again. We had excellent coffee and scones in the Gallic Kitchen. Next time we look forward to sampling lunches

This surely is an exceptional house! Large rooms, plenty of space to sit and relax. Very well equipped kitchen to make your meals if you wish. Renovation is done with good taste and honoring the old house. Nice back garden too. Parking was easy, lots of parking slots just outside the house. We went to see the bog and had a nice walk there (The Abbeyleix Bog Project).

Blackhill Woods is situated in a wooded site a few minutes from the lovely town of Abbeyleix. The wooded area is organic .... carefully maintained without disturbing the natural growth very much. Yoga classes take place daily. Breakfast served to the room is delicious. Simon is a wonderful host, welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable but in no way intrusive.
