Very modern hotel in a quaint little village that is the closest to best ferries to the Aran Islands. Also the closest to the Cliffs of Moher. Both are sites to be missed. Spacious and comfy room. A connected put has wonderful Irish music.
With breathtaking views across Galway Bay and the enchanting Burren limestone landscape, this 4-star country house hotel provides a haven of peace and tranquility near Ballyvaughan, County Clare.

Built in the Georgian period in 1736, Aran View Country House stands on a hill on the coast road and commands one of the finest views of the wild Clare coastline.

Liked everything about our stay here. Starts with wonderfully friendly hosts and a perfectly appointed room. We had a room with a view of the Cliffs of Moher, which by itself is amazing. But we also had our own private breakfast area. The room itself was designed well with light switches and outlets exactly where you want them (I know seems silly to get excited about, but with other locations you're searching for outlights and switches, so it was nice). Bathroom is new and modern. We originally wanted to stay closer to the village in Doolin so we could walk to the restaurants and pier, but so very happy we decided to stay here. It's still extremely close to the village and the place is wonderful.
In Doolin, on Ireland’s West Coast, the Atlantic View House has views over the Cliffs of Moher. Free WiFi is available.

We loved the incredible view of the Cliffs of Moher from our bedroom window. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable with lovely sheets and comforters. Breakfast was hot and plentiful with lots of choices. Plenty of parking outside. A 10 minute walk to the shops and pubs.

To be in Lisdoonvarna during the matchmaking festival is a bit special. Whilst we were at the beginning of the festival and it was relatively quiet, the music and dancing were great to watch. Lots of people having a great time. The style of dancing so typically Irish (not Irish dancing ala River Dance) and the music a mix of traditional Irish folk and Irish country and western.
It was great fun watching and we had a brilliant time. Go if you can! In the words of Brendan Shine - Catch me if you can, me name is Dan and I’m your man!

I was planning to travel to the Aran Island, but the winds were high and I get seasick. Instead I stayed in the area and explored the Burren Geopark. I would have like another 1-2 days to explore all of it. The Burren Visitor's Center in Kilfenora is excellent. Really enjoyed exploring.

We would have stayed in Doolin if we would have known there wasn’t traditional music as advertised at our hotel. It was the whole reason we stayed there and the music was in Doolin, not Lisdoonvarna.
The tourist economy is extremely competitive. Tourists want to see quaint and experience attractions in the short time they are traveling through a community. It’s expensive for a city to provide those kinds of things that demanding travelers want. Perhaps a regional travel organization can increase collaboration among communities to set the stage for regional success, not just success for Doolin.

Did not explore Lisdoonvarna itself too much but it would have been worth a day or two, just too much other stuff pre-planned. Was a great base to the Burren, Doolin, Cliffs of Mohr, Aran islands ferry.

Live music at the Ritz, however all the large hotels were shut to the public as they were being used to house refugees. Absolutely no problem with that use but they surly could allow the public access to the restaurants coffee shops etc as without this there were only limited facility in the town.

Considering that it is a tourist destination, it is quiet shabby I thought. The town coucil (like many others in Clare) should consider a factfinding trip to the likes of Westport to see how a tourist town SHOULD look like.
The "What would you recommend Lisdoonervarna for" sectoin is challenging "Its central position in North West Clare and the roads out of it" was not an option..
LOVED our stay ! It was so comfortable and cosy, a perfect location for exploring Clare. The breakfast was exceptional, delicious, a super choice of menu, included local produce and beautifully presented. The Sheedy family were so welcoming and friendly. Would have no hesitation in highly recommending this hotel.
Nice spacious living and dining room with plenty of seating. Aesthetically pleasing. Nice central location in Lisdoonvarna, near restaurants, grocery store, Doolin, Cliffs of Moher and the Burren. The manager Aileen was very responsive, pre-arrival and during our stay. Kitchen was well equipped.
This was our second time to stay here and we weren’t disappointed. The owners and the staff just make you feel so at home. The hotel is spotless and very comfortable. And the breakfast is one of the nicest you will get in any hotel in Ireland.
Lovely lady owning the hotel, we felt very welcomed. At night there was a very nice live band playing in the pub. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but it only adds to the charm. The hotel is situated nicely in this small town.
