A very comfortable and spacious ensuited room. Extremely comfortable large bed. Tea and coffee facilities available in the room as well as in the breakfast room. Self serve buffet breakfast as well as a full cooked breakfast option. There were a couple of local options for take out meals for arrival on our first night and we were invited to use the breakfast room for dining. Tess was a good communicator and made us feel very welcome in her lovely home. Our privacy was valued. Offered the option to have our room / towels refreshed after 2 nights. Access to room, 1 flight of carpeted stairs. On site parking. Great quiet homely stay about 20 mins drive to Kilkenny Castle.
With Medieval Kilkenny as a backdrop, this 18th century hotel is located in a cultural and artistic hot spot. The main shopping area is only 2 minutes away.

Freshford is a typical country village with not too much going on. That being said, we found the chip shop, "The Brennan Sisters" food to be super - too good - we ended up eating from it every night! We didnt go into the local pubs as after days sightseeing, we just wanted to chill. The Church in the village was beautiful too. Great, well stocked Mace supermarket close to the accommodation.

Staying in Tesses home was like home from home, we literally moved into Tess's home for 5 nights, my room was perfect, the bed was luxurious, the sheets were soft spotless and smelt lovely. Im a bit OCD about beds and sheets, it was better then hotel standard. Thank you Tess. Tess is warm, genuine and very helpful. We had access to the breakfast room and sitting room all the time we were there. Its a real bonus to have that access. Very grateful as i was with family and we could watch netflix and tv at night. We also had tvs in our rooms.
good secure parking, quiet location nice comfortable rooms with en-suite and tv ,beds large and comfortable ,breakfast in dining room with other guest can request continental or full irish , plenty of choice and plentiful food , self service otherwise ,very gracious host , left behind a jumper which she held on for me until I returned, is about 10 mins from motorway and 15 minutes from Kilkenny , was staying there to attending conference as hotel rooms where 3times cost
A genuine Irish experience be it by the warm welcome, the facilities and services offered ( this is a home and it does not try to be a hotel ), the way it does operate as a b&b and even the very simple traditional Irish Breakfast. The lady is very informative and passionate about her region. The surrounds are very peaceful and relaxing for a good night sleep. Very well run establishment, very clean. Good quality bedding and shower.
The owner was so lovely and so accommodating , she went out of her way to ensure my stay was fantastic. The rooms were lovely and the bed was probably the most comfortable bed in a hotel or b&b that I have ever slept in. The rooms were clean and cosy.
