The Mill, hotel in Dunfanaghy

The breakfast was fantastic, a huge choice of both cold and cooked food. The house looked out over a lovely view of green countryside, a mountain and a lake. And the hosts were very welcoming but took care not to be intrusive.

A beautiful spot with a wide beach and another down the road which was very safe and ideal for children. A great choice of places to eat, mostly beautifully cooked food. Live traditional music in an informal setting.

The house just outside Dunfanaghy was a great location for exploring the area. The beaches were awesome but the weather wasn't good enough to make full use.....that's just how it goes....just means I'll need to go again. There were plenty of other things to see and do that kept us out of rain showers. The Wild Atlantic Way drive is amazing. Glenvaegh castle is well worth a visit and if it's dry that area would be great for walking. Evening in Dunfanaghy listening to traditional music in the pub was great too. Letterkenny good for a shopping trip.

Dunfanaghy itself could have maybe another shop or two for appealing to tourists. I noticed bus trips stop there. Unfortunately a derelict hotel opposite Arnold’s hotel is a bit of an eye sore. Have heard it may have been purchased by a new owner so that may improve things.Arnold’s itself has good outdoor appearance. In general seems a friendly community , and near a number of picturesque and beautiful beaches.

I love Donegal and would never leave without a visit to the old workhouse for a coffee, a browse in the craft shop and maybe pick up a used book or two. A staff member recommended a lovely walk this time around as well. Another favourite is a visit to Ards Friary, lovely coffee there too after a walk along the sea and a visit to the beautiful little beach, perfect for the grand-children so will have to let them into the secret. Ostan Loch Altan in Gortahork is a great wee place to eat and very reasonably priced too.

A really fantastic place with an eclectic mix of accommodation from self catering to hotel rooms to glamping and camping! Superb food (fish & chips for me) on site. The owner was really friendly and mingled with guests at the outside eatery making sure everyone was happy. The double room I booked was adequate but nothing special. Breakfast was cancelled a couple of days before but I was refunded 15 euro immediately. I could also have had a voucher for Batch cafe nearby. I did end up going there and that was exceptional.

It’s slap bang in the middle of Dunfanaghy, with its pubs, shops and cafes, and minutes from the beach. A good shower, too, and excellent communication. Good value for money compared with other places in the town.
