The facility was very clean and the staff were wonderful, especially Rosie at the front desk, she was super exceptional, and the restaurant & bar staff, all great.
The food was also great!

We phoned the hotel to inquire about a taxi from the train station and the manager came and picked us up, This was much appreciated. The entrance to the hotel was quite grand and welcoming. We were shocked at the carpet in the room as it was dirty. We had asked for two beds and I slept in the Queen size which was very comfortable. My friend slept in a roll away bed which she said was uncomfortable with no bedside light available. the queen sized bed had a light on each side of the bed. One light did not work as there was no bulb in it. The other light did work. There was a shower in the corner of the bathroom and I discovered the drain was plugged as I ended up standing in dirty water. I did make this known to the staff. I do not think this was the first trouble in the shower as the hem and the bottom of the shower curtain had dirt on it.
The dining room and food available was excellent with very good service. A full breakfast was available. Interesting historical decor in the dining room. Tables well set out. Good lighting and cleanliness.
Featuring mountain views, An Bothán-Cosy Cottage in the Cooley Mountains provides accommodation with a garden and a patio, around 8.6 km from Carlingford Castle.

Dundalk in County Louth, the wee county, provided an incredible outpouring of creativity to celebrate Brigid1500. The Northern Lights Light Show in Market Square, the murals and storefronts painted with signs of Spring and Brigid, the cultural production at An Tain Theatre and the County Museum.
We were there for 4 days and we made the Proper Cafe "our cafe". The staff were very welcoming and remembered us and the food was great!
We also took a bus to Carlingford and enjoyed a short hike and great views of Carlingford Lough. Also, the home of Thomas Darcy McGee, and Father of Canadian Confederation.

At St.
At St. Patrics Day there were no free hotel in good price in Dublin. This choice for accomodation was the best choice, only 1 hour from Dublin by train, and found a very nice pansion with polite people.

The Imperial Hotel is a lovely comfortable hotel with very friendly helpful staff. The location of the hotel is very central and the town centre and shopping are just a short stroll from the door. My husband enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the races in Ireland's only all weather racecourse, just a short Taxi ride away, while I browsed and shopped in the nearby Shopping Centre. We dined in the hotel, where the food was excellent. We had a lovely restful two day break, and we plan to return there in the future.

People were very friendly, a lot of greetings while out walking the street on a wet morning, likewise staff in shops all very welcoming, the town could do more to promote it's history and some beautiful surroundings within close proximity, unfortunately there are a lot of derelict or dilapidated buildings around the town. The town also could do with a better range of dining experiences The Spotted Dog was excellent but a few more restaurants at that end of the market would be very welcome.

Dundalk has lots of potential.
Dundalk has lots of potential. Nicely laid out town and looking very well Unfortunately the people of Dundalk don't know the meaning of good customer service, very cold and unwelcoming. We didn't meet a single friendly face in the bars or resteraunts, customer service was NIL!

We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel.
We stayed at the Carrickdale Hotel. We drove to Newry and did some shopping. Then we went to stunning Carlingford for lunch and more shopping! Back to Blackrock in Dundalk for fish and chips from Roma on the promenade and ice cream at storm in a teacup. Dundalk has beautiful scenic drives and greenway walks and we loved exploring around it.

The hotel is in lovely surroundings. For those interested, there is a golf course and tennis courts. The pool is excellent, as is the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, too. The breakfast was brilliant. There was a great selection & everything tasted delicious. The staff, from check-in to bar staff and leisure area, were very pleasant and helpful. The kids were very pleased with this hotel as it's a kid friendly hotel. Great location for exploring this beautiful area.
Beautiful hotel, amazing location with a supermarket, pharmacy and coffee shop in the same area that share the same carpark, so handy and only a 2 minute drive from the town. Lovely, Friendly staff. Beautiful bar, restaurant and breakfast area, good food, super clean hotel and comfortable, spacious rooms, comfortable beds too. Highly recommend.
Easy to find, staff friendly and helpful, the room had a great view of St Patrick's church looks stunning when lit at night (sorry no pictures). We dined in the evening the bar was lively but well staffed food was well presented and about on par price-wise with many other hotels I've eaten in within Ireland.
Beautiful hotel, modern & sparkling clean, staff were all lovely...we were lucky to get a good day & were anle to sit outside in the lovely gardens & enjoy a drink..
very handy location as we were going to Dundalk stadium which was only a 10min uber away..
About a 25 minute walk from the town centre/train station and very close to the college. Very friendly staff, comfortable room and a great full Irish breakfast. Would recommend.
