Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel, hotel in Doolin

This country house hotel has a quiet location, looking out over the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. It has free parking, luxury rooms and an award-winning restaurant.

The breakfast was fabulous as was the setting. The room overlooked the countryside and was spacious. We loved the location, and it was so near the 2 wonderful pubs, McCann's and mcDermott's! Highly recommend this location.

Loved the ambiance and Atlantic wildness of the place. A very small pastoral little village. Would like to return probably in the Fall Shoulder season when weather still likely to be good and crowds are gone from this beautiful place. Stay could be longer to visit the Cave and the Burren. With the weather so bad and colder than usual (early January), we were glad to move on this time around. Afraid of being trapped by bad weather.

This was our 2nd time in Doolin.

This was our 2nd time in Doolin. If you're visiting for the 1st time, definitely take the Doolin ferry to the Aran Islands. We had great food at Russell's albeit a little pricey. We don't recommend McDermott's Pub, staff was not friendly and welcoming. We do recommend McGann's or Fitz's for pubs. There is some nice shopping in Doolin.

We saw a lot in just one day. Stopped at Doolin Cave on the way into town. Had an exceptional dinner at McDermott's and listened to traditional music by really great local musicians. Took a scenic cruise of the Cliffs of Mohr from Doolin Pier and visited several nice shops in the village.

We thought the ferry ride to Innis Oire was overpriced at 35 euros a head, and the time on the island excessively long, almost four hours, with not a lot to do there. There seemed to be more bike rentals than craft or other types of shops. The pier has no shelter for the wind and rain that is frequent. The horse buggy ride was reasonably priced and the driver pleasant and helpful. The pub was good, also, with a modest menu and reasonable prices. McDermot’s Pub in Doolin, was very good with traditional Irish country fare available and at reasonable prices.

Doolin is a tiny town that allows you access to the Cliffs of Moher. It's connected to the cliff walk trail, which walks along the cliff's edge to reach the visitor center. It's not for the faint of heart, but it is beautiful and totally worth it! A few websites I saw said to skip staying in Doolin as it didn't have much to offer, but I'm afraid I have to disagree. It's a charming town with cute shops and a few local pubs. It's home to people who have lived there for generations. The food and live music are a treat; even though it is a great place to access the cliffs, it couldn't be less touristy. You can also ferry to the islands from here. I personally don't love boats so I did not but many people recommend so I would stay 2 nights here if you can!

We took the ferry to Aran Islands for the day and it was a wonderful trip! Two of our party played golf nearby. We enjoyed the restaurants and the shops. From my visit here 9 years ago, a lot has been built in Doolin in the way of restaurants, shops, etc.

We loved literally everything about this property!! It is situated by the ocean, within view of the Cliffs of Moher, and close enough to walk into town for dinner, shopping, etc. Doolin Pier & ferry is right around the corner, perfect for trips to the Aran Islands. Our host, Eileen, was friendly and welcoming, our room was spacious, and the common areas (of which there were a few) were homey and comfortable. Before we’d checked out, we agreed we will be back!

If you want to feel real Ireland you should come in Doolin and this place is ideal for an overnight stay. This place is the best if you want to have a peaceful quiet holiday. Small village 5 minutes by car from the cliffs. Perfect for family or group of friends. Now I'm in love with there local Doolin's beer. Tasty food in a hotel's restaurant. Thanks to all people who worked in this hotel and houses, you make our trip unforgettable.

Lovely place in Doolin, very plush and comfortable with stylish neutral greys. Great shower. The breakfast deserves a special mention, with eggs made to order and interesting homemade items on the buffet. The owners are very nice and available for tips and recommendations, we had a great dinner in town because the owner was able to make a reservation for us. Bonus point, Bertie, the fluffy dog who welcome all guests!

A great choice for a Romantic getaway. Fantastic sea views, very cosy and comfortable. Birthday surprises from our lovely host awaited us in the Lodge on arrival and thereafter she was always available to assist with any of our queries. Doolin just up the road. And very private. A winner.

It was a lovely place to stay. Maria looked after us very well. Breakfast was fit for a king. The property was only a few minutes walk to pub, restaurants etc. I highly recommend Dubhlinn House.
