Abbey Hotel Donegal, hotel in Donegal

Located on the main square of the beautiful coastal town of Donegal, the 3-star Abbey Hotel is located right next to Donegal Castle.

This is an older hotel and I loved the ambience. There was live music at the bar and the rooms were great. The view out of the window was very lovely. The hotel is in the heart of the city and made walking around really nice. Donegal is quite a charming town!

Donegal is a beautiful area, rugged and less crowded in April. Would highly recommend this area, particularly to people who like walking/hiking opportunities. Slieve League is a must and Glenveagh castle and gardens, which are open, are charming. Other attractions in the area are worth a visit.

Amazing little town, nestled in the mountains on the banks of a v fast flowing river. Staff were ever so helpful, nothing was a problem. It was a v pleasant surprise to have access to the swimming pool next door. The castle across the street is v interesting and free to enter. We loved energy thing about this hotel and the live traditional music at night made for a very relaxing stay. Definitely recommend a visit😁

The hotel is right in the main square and very accessible. It is busy, with excellent staff and facilities, we enjoyed the restaurant and the breakfast. Lift available. Our very comfortable room overlooked the square, so a tad noisy with the window open, but not a problem for us. We enjoyed the lively scene. The area around Donegal town is interesting, beautiful and not too busy with tourists. We'd happily stay again if we could.

Kate and Michael are very friendly and excellent hosts. We were attending a family wedding and Kate supplied us with extras. Emergency pins.!!!!and even offered to drive us to the hotel.. The studio is compact and very tastifully decorated. The area has fields and greenery on your doorstep which adds to the open space. A Stones throw from the town.. we walked every day.. I would definitely come back.. Thank you both..
