Most comfortable and best nights sleep during our entire three week vacation in Ireland. Must say also the best shower we experienced during our trip as well. Ray met us to explain how to use everything in the apartment. Even though we didn't use, very nice adequate kitchen if were to rent this apartment to base out of.

Refurbished in 2016, the Shandon Hotel & Spa is located in the small village of Dunfanaghy and offers a wonderful views of the Sheephaven Bay and a luxury spa.

A super location - great hotel with wonderful staff - we were made to feel very welcome by everyone. Housekeeping staff, front of house staff and management all went out or their way to make our stay great!

Even though we had a week we missed certain spots we wanted to visit but what we saw would bring us back !
We ate mostly at the house and the local supermarket in cresslough was fantastic! Everything you need and more , prices reasonable too.
We ate at downings bay hotel for my brother in law’s birthday and it was a great meal. We organised a local mini bus to collect us and bring us home and it was a great price too.

There is nothing to do in Carrickart as such but it could be...
There is nothing to do in Carrickart as such but it could be used as a base to explore the area. Drive to the Glenveah National Park - 22 minutes. Drive to the Fanad lighthouse, 20 minutes, the beach at Downings, 10 minutes, Harry Blaney bridge, 7 minutes and so on. The village has the ubiquitous take away (Mac's) run by a father and son (made me a mean fish and chips), a couple of sit down restaurants and a decent size Centra (with an ATM). There is also a gift shop which makes the place more interesting; one can spend time browsing and making conversation with the lovely Scottish lady!

Had a fantastic time. The house was spotless and cozy. Heating was on for our arrival it was so lovely to walk into a warm house as it was bitter outside.
Fantastic location to the boardwalk and beach, short drive into Carrigart and surrounding towns.
We got a pet friendly house and were able to bring along our cat.
Stress free booking and stay. Highly recommend.
The hosts were only a text away the whole time to answer any questions.
Location was great for everything but parked car over in hotel car park (which is just across the street)as house is very close to road side, we were afraid of car getting damaged.
Great tv and wifi with loads of games etc for kids. Warm clean house and stove made it very cosy. So close to downings and broad walk beaches also! Host was very informative and helpful with all of the stay.
Quiet, peaceful, isolated location but close to Glen, Downings and Carrigart. The view is unbeatable! Nice clean house with all the usual amenities including a pool table! Outside area is nice to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of Donegal.
Great house. Great location on edge of village and close to bay walk. Very short drive to excellent beach. Very short walk to village hotel and shops. Pet friendly. House had real character. Would highly recommend.
Bedroom was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Everything was nice and clean. Location was excellent, a short walk into Carrigart where there are two good restaurants.
