Excellent quiet place to stay in an amazing location! Carol was very welcoming and brought us pastries, fruit, yogurt and fresh milk for breakfast. Would have stayed another night if we had time and gone back to the Rusty Mackerel a third time 😂

The location is fabulous. A river runs right behind the building. It’s right next to the bars in town and in a beautiful location with fast access to places like Slieve League and other beautiful sights. The Irish breakfast was delightful. We even stayed an extra night because it was hard to leave. Teresa takes excellent care over the place and we will be back in the years to come.

Carrick is a very rural area but absolutely beautiful in nature, probably the most gorgeous part of the world I’ve ever been to. Hiking around Carrick was such a good experience. In terms of food, I went to the local Chinese takeaway which was decent (can’t really expect that much from a takeaway tbf). I would recommend either having your own transport or being very prepared to walk.
