Stirabout Lane B&B, hotel in Avoca

On Rathdrum’s main street offering free parking, the award-winning Stirabout Lane B&B provides spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi, and home-cooked breakfasts.

Daphne is a very nice and interesting host. The property is well kept and breakfast is plentiful. Daphne also had good recommendations for dinner. The street in front of the B&B is quite narrow so we ended up parking in a lot at the end of the street but that was fine.

Jacob's Well Hotel, hotel in Avoca

Located in the tranquil village of Rathdrum, County Wicklow, Jacobs Well is 15 minutes’ drive from Wicklow Mountains National Park.

Every thing was exceptional. The inn keepers, staff, the local patrons and the food, and the unexpected pop up music jam session, far exceeded our expectations. Truly amazing, authentic introduction to the lovely kind people of Ireland. Wished we stayed longer.

I got very lost and the host came and found me. I was sick during my stay and the host was kind enough to offer to go to the pharmacy, and got me food and juice so I could recover. He is a good, kind man and helped a solo female traveler feel safe.

Macreddin Rock Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Avoca

Providing a garden, Macreddin Rock Bed & Breakfast features accommodations in Aughrim. With mountain views, this accommodation offers a terrace.

There was plenty of hot water for our shower and it had good pressure. The full Irish breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit, yogurt, toast and jam, cereals, Juices, tea, and coffee. It held us over all day out touring, and we didn’t eat again until 6:30 PM. The hosts Margaret and her husband were lovely people. They made arrangements for us to have supper at a nearby Italian restaurant even though we had no reservations for the evening meal upon arrival. They took the time to give us some guidance about our travel plans for the day as well.

Really enjoyed our stay in Avoca.

Really enjoyed our stay in Avoca. You do need a car to get around and see the beautiful scenery. We walked to the Miners Cross a bit of a hike but doable and the view from the top was breathtaking. We had to eat outside of Avoca and chose Wooden bridge which we would recommend. The meeting of the waters is a beautiful location and you can enjoy a pint in their pub. Its a bit run down but it is still a beautiful place to enjoy a drink or a coffee :-)

Staff were very friendly, the room was as good if not better than other hotels we’ve stayed at, the smart tv was an unexpected but great addition, the location is gorgeous and even though our room didn’t overlook the river the view was still beautiful. Photos don’t do it justice.

House was clean, well equipped and comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Great location in Avoca, within walking distance of an old fashioned pub. Wonderful walks nearby. Clara Lara was a short drive away as was Avondale.
