Hars is a very nice person, always willing to help and share his knowledge. He goes out of his way to make sure you have a good time on his side of the island and is very proud of his land and the organic farm he is building.
He cooks dinner for you if requested, for a reasonable price and you get whatever is ripe from his garden. The food is good and plenty.
We were a bit scared of the lack of ac, but indeed it was not necessary. Wind runs through the cabin and keeps it fresh at night. A net over the bed will keep the mosquitos away.
It is also located quite close to a stunning hill with a great view and some hidden waterfalls Hars might share with you.
It is certainly a different experience and one worth having.

The staff were incredibly wonderful and accomodating to our every need. Instant access to the beach and the restaurant even waited for us to get back to make sure we had eaten before closing. Amazing top service at this property.

If you don't like crowd and noise this is the place to go as you do not have to worry about traffic jam and pollution. Don't aspect big restaurant or fast food joint in the city as there is none.
Hiring a car to get around is more expensive if compared to Bali but the road trip across the island is amazing with beautiful view of rolling hills so worth it. The white sandy beaches is almost empty (you can see a few locals), beautiful and most importantly no rubbish.

The city center itself is quiet and not much to see, and unfortunately no restaurants sell authentic local East Sumba food. But its surrounding is really great. Within 30 minutes - 1 hour, there are hills and landscapes that offer great views and experience.
