Perfect location on lake front with own jetty stop for ferry and easy access to rest of Tuk Tuk . Lovely breakfast overlooking lake and enjoyed our restaurant meal with same view. All staff exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. Everywhere in hotel ( inside and pool area/ gardens well looked after.. Melanie was a delightful host and clearly cares about her hotel and staff. We had a full day sightseeing with Mike ( booked through the hotel). Mike was born locally and as such gave us a great personalised tour which was good value for money.

Hotel Barbara, hotel in Tuk Tuk

Frans and Jojor were so lovely, organised everything for us and offered to drop us off at ATMs no matter the time of day, truly so hospitable. Property felt super personal, the staff were great and the dogs were adorable. Lots to do on the island, the hotel is a fair walk away from Tuk Tuk and Tomok but Jojor and Frans organised transport for us no problem! The views were incredible and right on the lake too.

The younger sister drove me to the emergency room and even cooked and fed me some rice while I Could barely move. They brought me the food to my room, and where flexible and helpful with everything. Plus, the room is in perfect conditions, with nice views to the lake and close to everything (how shower was highly appreciated)

Tuk Tuk is mainly where beginner tourists stay, just like me. Tuk Tuk has many restaurants, cafes, hotels, resorts, homestays and guesthouses. Those are located along the main road at Tuk Tuk as well. If you do not want to spend on cafes and restaurants, no worries, there are convenient stores and shops along the main road. Very simple. But I would suggest people go to the restaurant and eat their local cuisines and seafood for the better. The only downside is the main road of Tuk Tuk is very troublesome and tough to walk and cycle as it is very steep going up and down. It is not a road that is stable. I would recommend people take a motorbike, scooter or car to travel along the main road.

There isn’t much to do but the tranquility of the place is superb. Peaceful with good low temperature between 19 deg C - 22 deg C. A place to unwind and relax. The next time I will look for the hot springs.

The scene there was beautiful and breath-taking.

The scene there was beautiful and breath-taking. The whole of Samosir will likely only take you about 3-4 days to finish visiting if you have transport. However, my partner and I were there for 8 days and took our time walking around and relaxing. We do believe we could have shifted accommodations to another part of Samosir though.

Fantastic Lake Toba - view stay !

Fantastic Lake Toba - view stay ! very easy access from Parapat. Boats available every hour. Accommodation like Gokhon available directly from the boat. marine activity directly from the accommodation. Lots of places to visit in a island. Both just relaxing and exciting sightseeings in one place.

Tuktuk is a beautiful and comfortable place for a vacation, its location on the shores of Lake Toba which is not sandy so you can jet sky but not play on the sand on the beach. many inns ranging from home stay to hotel. Currently December 2022, most of the properties are not well maintained, there are boats from Parapat to Tuktuk.

Tuk Tuk is a small chilled out place on Samosir island, easy to reach by ferry from Parapat (30 mins) or Balige (1 hour) there are some lovely people here on the island and plenty of options nearby,. The best thing to do it rent a scooter go for it. I went round the entire island scouting for best spots and village life. in mu opionon, head South from Tuk Tuke, lakeside on your left and after about 30 mins of travel you will be way up in the hills and mountain side - specatcular, watching Eagles and Hawks hunting up close from the vantage points - worth every effort and simply stunning views of the lake! Put Lake Toba on your bucket list!

I enjoyed my stay so much that I extended for one night. The staff is very lovely and helpful, the restaurant offers delicious, home-made food and If you rent a scooter (which they offer) you can explore Samosir Island in it's diversity or walk through Tuk Tuk. . The team definitely does their best after Covid to recover and I highly recommend staying there. Thanks again for everything!

This is an amazing place to stay!!! You stay in old authentic Batak houses with a balcony right next to the water. The view is superb and you can jump into the water right outside of your door. Location wise this was one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in. The staff was also very nice.
