I’ve stayed in Wisma Toraja for almost one month, while learning about the torajan culture. I first saw this hotel In google, where it has a 4.2 out of 5 rating. This hotel has been more better than I thought. The rooms are very spacious, with great views of the rice terraces. You can tell that it’s been renovated not long ago. Comfortable bed and everything you need is in the room. Free water plus unlimited tea and coffee is also provided. Plus the owner and workers are very helpful and nice.

Surrounded by nature, with a fish pond next to the seating area and lovely views from the breakfast bar on the balcony on the first floor - a little gem!! Strategically located close to many sites of interest, providing yummi home-cooked meals, all super affordable... What more could one ask for?!
Both Jacob and his son Yansen are wonderful guides. Knowledgeable with an excellent command of English, they make sure one really gets to know the fascinating local culture.
But the best part was the vibe. At no other place I stayed did I meet so many interesting people. Adventurers, long-term travelers, YouTubers... Such an exciting mix and sooo many captivating conversations!!😍 Surely not a coincidence, they all felt attracted to this particular homestay😊
If lucky to revisit Toraja in the future, I am definitely staying at the same place❤ You should, too😁 Just book early as the number of rooms is limited.

There are only 2 metrics you need to know: 1) Most guests extend (including me); 2) Guests leave other guesthouses in town to come here instead. Sarah and her family are excellent hosts. The food is next level amazing. The facilities are new and clean. The location is convenient and quiet. Tours, transportation, and motos can be booked here easily. The facility offers solar power and home cooked meals. It's worth it to book the premier room for a wonderful patio and view.
