What an amazing celebration of our 27th wedding anniversary for my husband and I. Travelling to Bali on a relaxing, dream holiday to our own private tropical oasis at The Maya Seminyak Villas was a well-planned, brilliant idea. Our private villa was exceptional - perfect location central to Seminyak town centre; spacious bedroom that opened out onto our own beautiful, large pool ( magnificent tropical weather- lots of swimming daily); staff- so helpful, kind and accommodating; short walks to restaurants/cafes (lots of traditional food and yes, plenty of delicious cocktails). You must try 'The Ginger Moon restaurant only minutes away from our villa.. Food here and service is absolutely exceptional!; endless shopping - loved all the street-lined, well-stocked, inviting, original stores only minutes away from our villa and of course, the Seminyak Square/Village - lots of arts and crafts, jewellery and clothing - all store prices very affordable (loved the bargaining where this was permissible), and staff, so lovely and extremely helpful. The Maya Seminyak Villas allowed us to create all of these wonderful memories.

I did the Nia Balinese Cooking Course which was amazing definately a must. Blue Lagoon snorkelling trip was a very dissappointment the water wasn't clean there was so much plastic floating around. Our grou[p suggestion would be give tourists a bag to collect rubbish while they are in the water several of our party put rubbish in their pockets. I had several massages at Spa Yasmin Jl. Raya Seminyak No. 22 Kuta, Badung - Bali. They were amazing I also had a Pedicure here.

The accommodation itself was a little far back from the main road where all the restaurants and shops were. But being where it was made it pleasant and quiet as we were far from the main road where all the traffic and scooters are all day.

Only drawback was the AC unit - was not cool enough during the first 2 nights; this could be improved though
Overall, place and stay were great. Wouldn't mind coming back :)

Seminyak: The traffic is chaotic, and people are hustling everywhere, but there is an 'atmosphere' that is enticing and exciting. Shopping is 'hit and miss'. Always bargain. Beware of 'rip off' of high profile brands - shoes/bags/clothes. But it's all part of the experience. Remember, everyone here is trying to make a living - don't be annoyed or insulted. The Balinese are lovely people - laugh, have a joke and move on.

Trans Resort feels more like a 6 star hotel. The rooms are huge, outdoor jacuzzi is amazing, towels and bath mats are plush and luxurious, bed is big and very comfortable, pillow menu is much appreciated, breakfast esp the Indonesian counter is simply delicious, housekeeping staff were brilliant, the beach pool and slide was great for the kids, main pool is very relaxing, staff were overall fantastic, location is central yet you are away from the traffic noise. A true oasis in Seminyak. One of the best 5 star hotels I have been to!

- Huge bathroom with stand-alone bath tub and tropical shower
- Walking distance to the beach (via shortcut; comes out next to W Hotel)

A lovely small hotel located just off Seminyak's main drag. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the pool & garden were excellent. All of the staff were super helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples wanting to be in a smaller boutique hotel but still super close to the action.
