I stayed only 1 night for the airport transfer on the next morning. The room itself ok, value for money. Lobby very nice. Security & privacy A+. I felt safe staying here. Breakfast ok. Many choices too.

Everything is good. The staff are well trained. The food was nice. The mountain view is absolutely stunning. The pool located beside the building with is more comfortable and was very nice.

Basically Padang is for people who probably finds food hunting their choice of travel. For me, going to Padang was a gateway to Kerinci, for the mountain hike. Padang in itself did not have much sightseeing places to offer but perhaps we did not take the island tours or any waterfall visits. Overall, it's a nice small place to chill and relax.

A big city with little to no immediate tourist interest but...
A big city with little to no immediate tourist interest but serves as a good place to start and end travels. There is good food options but a little difficult for anyone not familar with Padang to access the information. The city have a beautiful but undeveloped waterfront. A friend who is knowledgable says the city is becoming cleaner.

Padang is My wife's hometown,, so this review might be not objective.
This town is famous with it's culture, and the roof of the houses which they call "Bagonjong".
Padang itself is nice, with a great scenery from "Bukit Barisan" mountain and "Batangarau" estuary. You can also learn about Local urban legend such as "Malin Kundang" and "Siti Nurbaya"
But other places around Padang is also noteworthy, such as Bukittingi and Padang Panjang.
The Conclusion is,, Padang is worth a visit. You should spend 1 or 2 week there in Sumatera Barat.

The people are very friendly and kind and we'll soon miss the foods.
BUT, this may not be the place for a vacation where you want to rejuvenate yourself. It's just very hot and humid, and way too crowded around the town center. Kind of disappointing too because the town is quite dirty.
Also, be careful when choosing a place to stay. A 1-star hotel is just like a run-down motel and a Syariah motel doesn't mean Smoking is prohibited.
Instead of Padang, head to Bukittinggi ... this I recommend.

great location, near to "kampuang cino". a lot of local foodie and shop in walk-able reach and distance.
if got early flight or trip, they will provide box of breakfast. very nice.
Everything was so good. The staffs are friendly. Since we’re there during ramadan, the sahur was provided to the room. It’s nice. But i’m not that kind of person who’ll eat rice for sahur, and i think that’s a lot. The hotel is just walkable to the masjid. So, can perform tarawih easily
A calm and relaxing place in a very beautiful position surrounded by nature with all you need for your Padang stay.
The host is so nice and caring and always up to give tips on what to see and arrange your trip. I extended my staying as I really loved it.
