One of the first Bali resorts, Kuta has a long, sandy beach and great nightlife - reasons why it’s one of Indonesia’s top tourist spots.
Another popular draw is Kuta surfing. From gentle rollers to lefthanders, the waves are great for all abilities. Several shops in town sell big-brand surf gear at knockdown prices, while other shopping options include Kuta Square, Discovery Mall and Bali Mall Galleria.
There’s also no shortage of places to eat. Street vendors offer local fare, while international cuisine is served in restaurants of the Kuta hotels on Booking.com. When the sun goes down, the heat goes up, as the bars and clubs in party zone Jalan Legian kick into life. For something more refined, the bars by Kuta Beach waterfont are a great spot to watch the sun set with a refreshing cocktail.
If you’re up early enough to see the Sanur Beach sunrise, you might get to see locals throwing traditional offerings into the sea. Spirituality is a big part of Balinese life and there are yoga and meditation classes, not to mention spas to revive the senses.
The gateway to southern Bali, Denpasar Airport is right on the edge of the town, so it won’t be long before you can stretch out and soak up the sun.

Kuta is a shoppers paradise if that is your thing, or you can lounge around with a coconut juice or a Bintang, whatever your preference.
Still pretty safe area, and the range of decent restaurants and facilities has increased dramatically.
Poppys lane is still the place to check our your cheap t shirts and nic nacs. Jamie Oliver's was an excellent spot for my daughters birthday dinner with the family group.

The Hard Rock Hotel is great for family holidays, lots of space and great facilities and entertainment, unfortunately Kuta is grid locked 24/7 with cars/taxis and scooters, the road system just cannot cope with the volume of traffic, the scooter create huge volumes of 2 stroke smoke pollution, once you are in the Hard Rock your are away from it, but Bali is a very long way from the UK and there are Hard Rock Hotels all over the world, I personally wouldn't go back because of the traffic, pollution and the beaches are filthy with plastic waste.

We loved this hotel, everything was impeccable, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and super clean. Excellent breakfast. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was incredible. The employee who served us (we apologize for not remembering his name) was immensely friendly. The hotel is very cool, with a facade covered in vegetation, and well decorated, it was an excellent welcome for the beginning of our trip in Bali.
Perfect for what we wanted. Day room for a shower and rest between arriving in Bali early morning and flying out early evening. 10 mins from airport and good pick up and drop off. Much cheaper than day room in airport hotel
Hotel is located very close the Bali aiport. Breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. Gym was big and had everything needed for a good workout. Pool was very nice. Food at the restaurant was good.
