The rooms were modern, well appointed, quiet, and clean. The beds were comfortable. Close to main tourist sites. Not so resort-like, but still unfussy and cosy. I was able to walk with my luggage to the train station in 12 minutes, which beat the traffic by 40 minutes. Note, I requested a room without a view to get some sleep (can't hear prayer call) - which was fine if all the room is used for is sleeping. Great stay!

We stayed at Hotel Gaia during the Badminton Asia Junior Championship in Jogja on early July’24. Several badminton contingents from Asian countries stayed at the hotel because it was close to the event.
Because of the hectic situation, it was a bit difficult to find an empty table during breakfast.

The lobby smells good. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of food. The room was comfortable, and it was close-ish to UGM (which was our main purpose for visiting Yogyakarta). It's also close to a mall with some restaurants and cafes.
We forgot some of our stuff at the hotel after checking out, and the staff there helpfully kept them for us.
