HEINER HOMESTAY, hotel in Bunaken

Set on the beachfront in Bunaken, HEINER HOMESTAY has a private beach area. The homestay features family rooms.

After spending already two weeks in indonesia we had our best time at Heiner Homestay with Ope, Olga and their lovely kids. They not only served us delicious food, they also helped us with guidance and information about activities. Snorcheling and dolphin tour with Ope was an incredible experience. Also the WLAN works very well. We really felt at home and welcome in their homestay next to the beach. Thank you so much!!

Unique location makes you feel like you have a private beach. The cottage is cozy and has everything what you need. Very friendly staff, we came too late for breakfast but they still arranged breakfast for us. The breakfast and dinner were tasty. The transport from Manado and back was very well organised. Name a time and they will bring you to Manado. They have arranged our transfer for car and boat.

Cocotinos Manado, hotel in Bunaken

A 25-minute drive from Manado’s Sam Ratulangi International Airport, Cocotinos Manado overlooks Bunaken National Marine Park and is located within Wori Bay in Kima Bajo Fishing Village.

I visited mostly backpacker places on my trip but on the last day I treated myself to this resort. It has a great view of the ocean, clean pool, excellent food, massage service, and a very friendly staff. Everything you need to unwind.

MAMALIS HOMESTAY, hotel in Bunaken

Offering sea views, MAMALIS HOMESTAY is an accommodation set in Manado, 700 metres from Pangalisang Beach and 1.2 km from Liang Beach. This property offers access to a terrace and free private...

Two lovely adjacent bungalows in front of the beach in the village with a shared porch with a dining table and relax chairs. The host Mamalis made amazing varied food, some of the best we’ve had in Indonesia. Papa Sem has a boat for snorkeling and dolphin tours. The atmosphere is calm, close to the pier and two diving schools. Communication in English is done through Stefen, who runs a nearby homestay. He is very friendly, like Mamalis and Papasem, whom you can talk to in Indonesian and through translation apps.

    Great for learning SCUBA diving.

Great for learning SCUBA diving. Great for diving with fish, turtles, huge coral reef. The dolphin tour was fantastic, saw many many dolphins. Great for relaxing and snorkeling. I was there for 6 days and that was perfect for me.

Island of Bunaken is very accessible on a short boat ride from Manado harbor. The island itself is very quiet, almost boring if you come looking for lively nightlife or bars & restaurants. The main attraction are the coral reefs, still relatively pristine with its marine life ecosystem ... let's hope that it can continue to stay that way.

The island is very beautiful, a place from which to go diving and snorkling. There is everything for everyone. Unfortunately, the plastic is at home in a national park! Tourist activity has started to destroy the coral reef in some places. In a few years Bunaken park will be only in name. It is a recommended place for those who practice diving, less a place to relax.

Dive operation Celebes Divers made me feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to assist my diving. At 78 years old and with a scuba career of nearly 50 years, Dive leader Ali and the other dive team members plus the boat crew did all they could to assist me in exiting the water, given my knee problems, by me doffing my equipment in the water, crew members lifting it up onto the deck, so I could climb aboard unencumbered. Dived an interesting Japanese freighter wreck sunk by the Americans in World War 2 and several reefs chock a block with fish & corals. Well done Celebes Divers staff!

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort.

Airport transfers must be arranged through the resort. Don't even attempt to do this yourself. You have to love swimming, snorkelling and or diving to make the most of your stay. The resort is in the bunaken national park - so the sites are pretty amazing. There is a spa to enjoy after the relaxing dives. Food is great so no need to drag snack along. Not mush to buy - so make sure you have the essentials! Enjoy a fab experience!

Loved Bunaken, stayed one week on either side of the island in full board resorts which was good because both sides are so different. Many good dive boats/teams and great snorkeling from the beach or go out with a dive boat. The small town deserves some time spent there and next time I'd stay in town for a few days as well.

The location on the island is perfect, at the best part of the reef for snorkeling. The owners, David and Fu, are very helpful and kind. Their enthusiasm and love for this area is contagious. The dive center is well equipped and all staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The food is varied and portions more than big enough. It’s hard to find anything negative to say about this place. We would return in a heartbeat.
