The Zurich hotel is an older style classic Balikpapan hotel. It is spacious and comfortable, and ideally located for access to shopping and the airport. I use it for my work travel as it is economical and friendly, not plastic and small. The room views are nice compared to other parts of the city. Access is good for taxis. Easy to walk to BSB supermall. Really nice Indonesian room-service meals. Inexpensive and delicious. This is why I return every month for my work & travel.

We really enjoyed the friendly and attentive staff, who were happy to ensure we enjoyed our stay.
The breakfasts each morning that were included in the room price were delicious. The rooftop terrace was a colourful and scenic area to enjoy the extensive variety of good quality food and drinks.
We also enjoyed tasty dinners on the rooftop terrace in the evening. Views of the night sky and city were lovely to see as you dined there.
The location was good.
The bed was very comfortable.
The manager was very approachable and helpful. He and his staff made for a very good team in the running of the hotel. This of course helped make our stay so enjoyable and memorable. Testimony to this is that we are coming back to stay again.

Balikpapan is a clean small city, delicious culinary tourism, very close to the beach, with friendly residents. it is very pleasant to be in Balikpapan. to get around Balikpapan, we can use online transportation, public transportation, and there are also mini city buses that go around. both of them are famous for their culinary tourism, having dinner on the beach is certainly a fun thing, be careful the night wind on Balikpapan beach is sometimes quite strong

The lungs of Borneo, rich in natural resources, a city where the river flows, and home to the indigenous Dayak tribe. These are just a few things we know East Kalimantan for. A province in Indonesia that could soon become the Indonesia’s future administrative capital—The New Awakening of Nusantara (the locals call it IKN, Ibu Kota Negara). The name of the future capital means “archipelago” in Javanese. It will be based in Sepaku, within the regions of North Penajam Paser and Kutai Kartanegara.

We had a wonderful experience at the hotel. The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. If you meet someone with the name like Kadek, Dewi, Iwan, Eka or Jumsia on their badge, be sure that you will get the great service exceptional as well. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Balikpapan.
On top of a big shopping mall, so it's very convenient. A good place to stay to enjoy the mall. We got 1 hour extra checkout time. We are allowed to park just at the hotel's entrance, although we need to move it due to the heat. I don't think there is valet service for hotel guests. Breakfast was pretty good with many varieties.
The staff were really friendly, hospitable and you could tell they were professional & doing their best. The hotel is functional, nothing fancy, but our room was clean and housekeeping did their job very well.
