Bed was comfy. Reception staff friendly and helpful. She arranged a guide and driver for us and Jeremy and Oos were both great. We got to see many of the sights around Bajawa, and did a couple of great hikes, one of which not many people would get to do.

Kristian Homestay, hotel in Bajawa

Kristian Homestay features accommodation in Bajawa. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi.

Kristian and his family are super welcoming hosts. We would stay with them again in the future. Sometimes Bajawa can be hard to get around. Kristian made our stay seamless - he helped us to rent motorbikes, gave many tips for places to visit, and even arranged a public transport for us back to Labuan Bajo. He can also guide you to traditional villages where ceremonies happen on a given day. We would have spent hours if we had to find all the information ourselves. Also the rooms were clean and there was always hot water.

Home stay wolokoro ecotourism, hotel in Bajawa

Situated in Bajawa in the East Nusa Tenggara region, Home stay wolokoro ecotourism has a balcony and mountain views. The property features garden and inner courtyard views.

The remote location was both good and bad. I came from Moni and was travelling to Ruteng the following morning, so I had to detour to come to this location. The remoteness also meant that it was isolated with no other food option other than to eat at the hotel, but it was also good because of the peacefulness and great view of Mt Inierie. Staff were very friendly and the food was plentiful and good. Bed was comfortable.

With a lot of tourism spots in the area, I think the local government should put a serious effort to boost it’s popularity and attract more tourists. Create a special event, surely bajawa has a lot of potentials; nature, historic, its friendly people with amazing voices, and yes..the coffee. A super urgent note for the local gov’t, there’s a big hole in front of Camelia restaurant that might trapping the pedestrian especially during a blackout night (it’s common in bajawa)

Nice hilly town, a bit hot when we were there but people are nice and super helpful. There are few traditional villages worth a visit, hotspring, mount Inerie, waterfall, and some spots for sunset and sunrise.

Bajawa is a small mountain town in Flores that attracts folks from all over to check out its cultural sites and textiles found in Bena Village and other traditional villages. Hikers are fond of Bajawa because of Mt. Inerie which we also came to town to hike up. The hot spring near Bena Village was a nice treat after the hike. It’s so unique because of how 2 streams of water - one hot and one cold - converge to make this hot spring possible. The Ogi Waterfall was okay but it may have been something to see during the wet season. It was easy to get around with a scooter and access to other towns is easy as there is a bus terminal just outside of town. Overall Bajawa has its gems and is worth checking out especially if you like textiles ans hiking.

The hiking guides may fail to warn you about the real difficulty of Mt. Inerie. Apart from hiking, you will climb the last 1/2 or 1/3 of the trail using your hands. The view is amazing, and we did it during morning time, not waking up in the middle of the night. It is scary enough when you can see the trail ahead, I cannot imagine doing it in the dark. During the day, every time you pause and look behind you, the landscape is breath-taking. Bring gloves, at least 1L water bottle, long pants, good trekking shoes and fruit - you will need the sugar. Ditto's and Millionaire restaurants are nice, especially the later if you are looking for veggie food.
