The hotel is excellent! We stayed here for one night on our way, and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. Check-in was quick and seamless, even without a reception desk -everything was thoughtfully organized. The room was very cozy and clean, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bed was incredibly comfortable, which is especially important after a long journey. It was warm inside, which we appreciated since it was chilly outside. A lovely bonus was the complimentary water, tea, and coffee - small details like these really show care for the guests. It’s clear that the owners prioritize their guests’ comfort. City is historical museum! Gorgious. Tidi, quiet, not many people on streets, buildings are from AustroHungarian Empire, and every building is jaw dropping. Prices for tourists acceptable, public transport excellent, generally urbanisticaly very appealing.
Great old time building housing terme: spas, pool, sauna ets. Just walking in there makes one feel like aristocracy.
One can tell its inhabitants are fine cultured people with long historical tradition ....Enjoyed it very much.

A rather pleasant city.
A rather pleasant city. It is easy to get around on foot and on a bike. Has a few very nice tourist sites to offer and with a few restaurants to please the foodies, although not on the main pedestrian street where mostly fast-food is to be found.
There is a mall for ones interested in shopping.
I recommend the zoo as a family visit.

The city is walkable, quite but still large enough and offers variety of things to do. We ate at some pub which we have actually visited once, years ago. Many restaurants require reservation, so it was not easy to find a place to eat. Getting around was easy and simple, even w/o maps. We prefer visiting a spa for a 3-4 hours when we visit Szeged.

We arrived at the hotel at 23:00 and just slept there. The AC was from 2. world war. The key of the room was from the 80s. The room was so old. I couldn't find the photographs. We requested a refund but never couldn't reply from the facility and/or booking.com.

Szeged is a city in southern Hungary and in the southern part of the Great Hungarian Plain. The river Tisza , which flows into the Danube passes through it . The alley along the river is turned into a beautiful sculptural park. There are impressive buildings and the most stunning of them are the New Synagogue and the secession palaces. The Water Tower was erected in 1904 and had been renovated in 2005-2006. It is surrounded by a small quiet park where one can see the statue of the engineer that had built it. Szeged is rich in elegant squares such as Széchenyi tér ( tér = "square") featuring the neo-baroque town hall, Dugonics tér , Klauzál tér and the most famous Dóm tér with the adjacent Votive Church, The area around the university is lively and attracts a lot of young people. Szeged is not only an architectural jewel but also a centre of cultural events. It is hot in the summer here but fountains, lakes and the river not only refresh the environment but lend a particular charm to the city. Hungarian cuisine is very delicious especially Goulash.
Szeged is situated very closely to the Serbian border and can be a starting point for excursions to other cities in Vojvodina like Novi Sad and Subotica.

It is a nice and quiet city. We found some small restaurants not far from the hotel for good diner.
The catedral is nice to be visited.
We stayed only for one day, but we enhoyed the time in Szeget.

Excellent hotel situated close to the city center of Szeged, and is a few minutes ride by car. Breakfast and dinner buffet was fresh, delicious with variety of food. Spacious room with balcony, comfortable, cosy bed, roomy bathroom, several types of lighting in the room, and above all everything was spotlessly clean. The staff were helpful, caring and friendly, so we were very pleased with our stay here.
From our experience, all praise for the Riva Hotel. We liked the quick response in communication, the staff is very friendly, the accommodation is modern and clean and the breakfast is excellent. A beautiful experience and I'm glad that we chose Hotel Riva for our stay in Szeged :)

We used this hotel to rest on the road to the Bulgaria. After visiting center of night Szeged, we are decided to visit Szeged for more days in the future.
Best apartments in Szeged! We were in at least 10 other apartments and hotels in Szeged but Csanabella House is best. Everything is great! So many details, clean, spacious, new but still house has spirit of old Szeged.
