The room itself was ok, decent size and clean, with adequate amenities.
What was not ok, and why this place does not deserve higher rating is an unexpected payment taken by the hotel for the breakfast. The description on booking.com states that it costs 8 EUR, but they charged almost twice as high amount from the card (6305 HUF, 16 EUR, plus tourist tax). Payment was done by contactless card, and during check-in process the receptionist didn't show me the final amount on the payment terminal. I only discovered the mistake next morning by checking bank statement, and pointed out to this to another receptionist during check-out. She argued at first, and finally admitted overcharging, but told me that "refund is not possible". I travel a lot in Europe, and this is the first time I ever encounter anything like this from a service provider who offers accomodation on booking.com.

There was a holiday going while I visited Miskolc sothe shops etc were mostly closed. A nice enough toinen to voisit though it seemed a bit quiet one. It was a bit difficult to find the center of the tien when I started from the train station
In bus station the system was confusibg. There were Electronic displays for departing busses but they were apparently not updated. The staff there sermed not to be too service oriented

We were puzzled with the city: it has a long history, but...
We were puzzled with the city: it has a long history, but its landscape is dominated by the industry. There is a medieval castle, but it was closed at the time of our visit due to …. reconstruction! I really don’t want to see it after it is done, a very peculiar approach to historical monuments. On the other hand, we enjoyed a visit at Avas tower offering a nice view of the city plus a good coffee and drink bar. We skipped the local museum and went to Bukki National Park, which was a wonderful experience.

Surprisingly great city, pleasant city center and...
Surprisingly great city, pleasant city center and surroundings, starting point for trips to the Beech Mountains, beautiful waterfalls and caves in Lillafüred, an excellent cave spa in Miskolc-Tapolca. Within driving distance of Tokaj, Eger and more.

I liked the terrace, located in front of the room. Well equipped room, big and safe parking in the courtyard. The location is very close to the old city, in a quiet area.
