The Villa Hotel basically consists of the second floor of a restaurant in the middle of the park. It is a bit old-fashioned in an exceptionally charming way and seems a bit like "grandmothers living room" in the best sense. In other words: expect a bit "cozy/plushy", and not "modern design"-y. Staff is wonderful and helpful, breakfast buffet is good and offers all that one would expect from a four-star hotel. Definitely an excellent option when living in Debrecen, be it for leasure (thermal spa "across the street", city center 10min by tram), or if you visit the university. A detail that I really appreciated: the hotel left another key card in the electricity switch, which allowed for leaving aircondition on, if necessary, even when leaving the room. Given that the rooms are directly under the roof, this is a real incentive on hot summer days.

This is a brand new hotel and it was just opened a couple of days before our arrival. Everything was super clean, new fresh and tidy.
The breakfast was one of the best you may probably get in the hotels in Debrecen, the food was top quality , you can even get shrimps in breakfast.
The view from the rooftop bar is amazing, definitely worth having a drink during the sunset even if you do not stay in the hotel.
The location of the hotel is perfect, all important places are within walking distance.
The first couple of ratings are not fair for this hotel I think. I have stayed in many hotels around the world and this definitely deserves more rating than those initial ones.
