FAQs about hotels in Budapest

A City of Two Halves

With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.

Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.

Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.

To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.

With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

Budapest is a lovely place, not as nice as Prague in my opinion but still nice. My advice would be to plan your days. It’s great to spend a day just wandering around but there is so much about that you’ll miss loads without a little planning. Also, if you want to go to the Zoo Cafe you must book in advance!

Budapest is a stunning city that effortlessly blends historic charm with modern vibrancy. The architecture is truly remarkable, with grand buildings and thoughtfully designed streets that exude a sense of elegance and sophistication. The mix of old and new gives the city a unique character, making every corner feel special. Public transportation was efficient and easy to navigate, and the prices for food and attractions were surprisingly affordable by European standards. It’s a place that feels both inviting and unforgettable. Ps visit Manu pizza and the great market hall.

It’s a very beautiful city It was our second time and we’d love staying there longer The only problem was that they don’t speak English and at the train station they didn’t help us to find the right platform for our train and even we were 40 minutes earlier, we lost it since we were waiting outside with snow at the wrong platform. Of course we had to buy new tickets, more than double price to Vienna

Budapest has great places to visit: Franz Liszt's Museum, Zoltan Kodaly's Memorial House (write for a reservation in advance), Hungarian National Museum (one of Beethoven's piano is there and also the clavichord of Mozart!), Hungarian National Gallery, Hungarian Parliament etc. Buda's part is more diverse in sightseeing, Pest's side is better for shopping. Excellent restaurants are everywhere.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. My experience was incredible. I cannot believe how beautiful and underrated this city is. The people are great, beautiful stunning Arquitectural buildings. Amazing food, fantastic views, public transportation is great. Plenty of exploration, amenities, and activities at any given time and hour of the day. My God, what a place; I love Budapest, it is now my favorite city in Eastern Europe. Highly recommended, you gotta visit here, is fun, pleasant, fantastic, amusing and it is cultural. Viva Hungary!

We chose this hotel due to its central location and stylish design and it did not disappoint. The location is excellent with a very short walk to the city centre. The hotel and room is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The bed especially is so comfortable. And despite its very central location the room was so quiet and calm. The staff is incredibly friendly and nice and made our stay memorable. If we would come back to Budapest we would stay there again!

Fabulous comfortable hotel a few minutes to the centre by taxi (Bolt). The bed is one of the best i have ever been in, extra king size, gorgeous bathroom with a great bathtub and shower. Great prices considering the quality of the furniture and size of the bedroom in a European capital. Amazing kind staff throughout the hotel. True 5 star experience. Would go back to Budapest solely to stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is located quite far away from the city centre but it's easily accessible by bus or metro. The staff do speak English, which was a pleasant surprise after previous experiences in Budapest. The room and the bathroom were clean.
