FAQs about hotels in Zadar

Dalmatias Historical Heart

Tucked away on the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea and surrounded by small archipelago, Zadar is sprinkled with Romanesque architecture, medieval churches and protected by 16th century fortifications and high walls.

As the waves crash along the shores, the sea organ will play its harmonic sounds and welcome you to Zadar’s lively and charming Old Town, located across from the mainland. It is lined with marble walkways, landmarks, fascinating museums, and priceless archives.

It is home to the National Museum, Five Wells Square, the 14th-century University of Zadar, and the Roman Forum which features the 9th-century St Donatus' Church and 12th-century St. Mary's Church.

Stroll along the pretty tree-lined promenades and enjoy a meal in the several cafés, restaurants and bars which line Zadar's streets. Visit the popular Peoples Square in the district Narodni trg and shop in the Mercator Centar or City Galleria.

Booking.com has accommodation options in Zadar and across the coastline in cities such as Bibinje, Petrcane and Sukošan. Zadar Airport links the city to several European destinations.

Really fun old town with great dining options and sundowns. Roman ruins and city walls are beautiful. Everything is walkable and they have a walkway for running or walking that encircles the entire old town.

We visited at the end of September/beginning of October.

We visited at the end of September/beginning of October. Zadar is a nice place, without all the tourists of other well-known cities, but close enough where you can make day trips if you want. A very nice walk along the seawall up to the Morske Orgulje (sea organ), a must-see. Recommend strolling there early in the morning. In the evening, everyone gathers to watch the sunset. Old town area is close by. We took an all-day boat tour out to Kornati Island. Well worth it. Would stay in Zadar again.

    Excellent apartment*****.

Excellent apartment*****. Free parking, undercover in car park, just a few minutes walk to the apartment, very safe. Zadar, was amazing, especially the old town. Fantastic to walk around the marina, so many restaurants, lively, fun, for all ages. The apartment was just awesome. It exceeded our expectations. Best coffee machine we have ever used. Ordered one when we arrived home. Cannot recommend Zadar highly enough.

Zadar was lovely for it's seaside views.

Zadar was lovely for it's seaside views. The sunset in the old town was amazing. Also the promenades by the water were great. The old town is definitely a must to visit and try some good at. 2 days in the old town are enough to visit everything you need. Would recommend visiting a few places close to Zadar if you have a car, if you are staying any longer than the two days. Nin has lovely beaches and the Islad of Vir was very very nice for the seaside views and some very tasty icecream

Fantastic stay in a luxury mobile home where we could also use the facilities at their 5 star hotel next door. Every little aspect of the experience was well thought out, everything worked - Falkensteiner is a really well run operation. We had the freedom of camping with a 5 star experience and it was excellent value. Although this was at the beginning of June - the height of season would probably be too hot, hectic and expensive
