Friendly owners, seperate entrance, nice flat, large balcony. Overall very nice place. However, we couldn't find the street and we were driving around for a long time. Tv was not working but we didn't need it.

Baške Oštarije are a great base for many hiking trails on Velebit mountain. We climbed 10 peaks in 4 days and not one starting point was more then a 20 minute ride away from Baške Oštarije. The village itself has no store, so you need to do your shopping beforehand, or drive to Gospić or Karlobag (20 mins) for groceries, or any other service. There is one restaurant in the village - Hostel Baške Oštarije, and a cheese store with local award-winning cheese.

For short stay I recommend Sladovačko brdo a top over the Hostel with astonishing views over the Velebit, Adriatic islands and Lika field.
For longer trip I recommend Dabarski Kukovi, which offers different difficult types of
