The location and value is great. It was a bit outdated but the view is worth it. The drinks at the bar we crazy expensive considering drinks are so cheap in Roa. Would stay there again. Location is chill.

Bliss on the Bay family, hotel in West End

Situated in West End, less than 1 km from West End Beach and 2.1 km from Sandy Bay Beach, Bliss on the Bay family offers air conditioning.

Kitchen with fridge, microwave, gaspits to cook, all the basics you need in a kitchen. Beds were very comfortable and clean! We got towels and soap! There was AC in the bedroom (awesome to sleep)! (We had earplugs (as you are on the mainroad) and could sleep well!) We could ask anything to host Luis, always there to help, even for a little ride! Luis was super friendly and very knowledgeble!

A great little place, walking distance to west end, cute appartments with everything you need at a very resonable price, and the owners are wonderful, they accommodated us in every way they could from discount scooter rental as a guest to helping us out of a bind when we couldn't withdraw any cash on the island due to power failure and atms being out of money. Definately stay here!

My views are very subjective and "European".

My views are very subjective and "European". I was disappointed by how americanised the area is. Some of the beach bars are actually sports bars: I personally don't understand the concept of flying for hours and spending that kind of money to have the same experience as you have at home and felt a little cheated. There are very few charming places. There are plenty of options for divers: the outfit I used was Reef Gliders and it was great, but they told me by email they are at capacity and i'm pretty sure I could have rocked up last minute, as with most outfits in town. Most of them have their own bar / restaurant, which is great, especially for solo travellers, as you can hang out with the staff and the people you meet diving. I found everything quite expensive - not so much the diving though, but the food and souvenirs. I recommend planning / budgeting for trips away from the West End as it is small and can get a little claustrophobic. Good to know as info isn't clear online: the garifuna village in Punta Gorda organises visits on Sundays. I learned that on the Monday... Maybe a good place to try some local food because West End ain't it.

    I’ve enjoyed West End.

I’ve enjoyed West End. Some people did not appreciate the beach vendors, it can be overwhelming how many people approach with packages, services etc. It didn’t bother me, but did see other people complaining.

The area is lively an very diverse. Loved the beaches and Mrs. Nathalie who offers body massages on the beach. Amazing hands as it takes all the stress away. Then a good dinner at Hotel Miamar and then a walkon the strip.

In one week you can experience West End a few times over, but the locations is incredibly convenient for diving and excellent dining options. Its easy enough to visit west bay via water taxi if you want to switch things up or do any number of other activities around the island. Super easy to walk the whole length of West Bay. I think West End is the best way to go.

Great beach with easy access to snorkeling.

Great beach with easy access to snorkeling. We loved watching the families play on the beach. The massage women were persistent and annoying. You must be firm with them and not let them touch you for a sample massage. Restaurants and stores within walking distance.

West End, especially West End Village, is the perfect laid back experience. Beautiful beach (Half Moon Bay), fun and inexpensive food, and friendly folks. Also, has a broad range of diving options if scuba is your thing. Local restaurants not to miss are Loretta's, Anthony's, Celulu, Sandy Buns and Celestes
