The rooms are large and clean, the staff is really nice. we spent 2 nights in a bungalow with river view and we had both confort and intimacy. Swimming in the river was also a big plus & you can even get in 25 minutes to the city centre. I enjoyed being there.
El Hotelito Perdido is a little jungle hideaway located in a middle of Rio Dulce National Park.

This hotel is a little paradise in Rio Dulce. Our bus from Flores arrived tight at 14:30 to catch the last collective boat, Tim managed that the boat waited for us, we are very thankfull for that. From the very beginning Tim and his team took good care of us, they introduced us to the hotel policies and very quickly we started enjoying the ammenities of the hotel. Lovely hamocs, jump into the river, meditate, grab a kajak and start exploring and paddling through the jungle. I had been several times in Rio Dulce before but this hotel really gave us the chance to experience the area to the fullest. Tim took care of each one of his guests every day, asking how our day was recommending tours which we enjoyed very much.

It was a very nice stay. The staff was very nice and the food was tasty (we got huge portions). We swam in the river, went zip line and kayaking. It is very quiet and pleasant around. Beautiful place. There were some mosquitoes, but that's obvious if you book a house in such a place. And the location is great.

Staff really helpful and friendly, as were to two cute cats!
I really wanted to like Rio Dulce. It turned out to be only a hub for boat and bus travel for me. Having spent two months in Guatemala by the time I got there, I was not surprised by the poverty or conditions. That said, I didn’t find much other than the castle to be places I wanted to see more of. It was very hot and humid in early July.

Beautiful remote location with many jungle lodges (from super remote to more public) along the river. Great jungle hikes, caves, kayaking with plenty of nature and wildlife. Definitely a required stop when visiting Guatemala, will visit again!
- Food was delicious!
- Staff very helpful! They recommended El Boquerón to us which we hadn’t heard about and absolutely loved it. I left a pair of swimwear behind after checking out and they kindly sent it to Rio Dulce Travel office for me to collect.
- Location. There’s lots of great hotels/hostels/eco lodges along Rio Dulce, but Tortugal was perfect because there’s access to the main road where you can then go to the hot waterfall or Boquerón and also into Rio Dulce easily.
The hotel is situated in a stunning place and Rio Dolce was a joy to explore. Our air conditioned cabin was very comfortable and clean. There is filtered water available for refill which is great and the food especially breakfast was delicious which was fantastic, as other visitors have said, you don’t have a choice which of course is part of the charm but also important to note.
Beautiful hotel in the middle of the jungle, which can only be reached by boat. They pick you up and drop off again from where the shuttles depart. The food is reasonably priced and very delicious. Overall, I had an amazing stay.
Loved the setting, a hidden gem on the rio dulce, they have a free shuttle to take you from the puerto to the hotel. Rooms are nice, all open so you can wake up with the sound of birds.
