The food here is fantastic; you have many places to choose from with various cuisines (including local); we recommend El Comalote as a starting point. The coffee and the coffee shops are great; the options are delicious: we recommend Fat Cat Coffee House, El Gran Café, Café Alegría, and 12 onzas; if you're more into tea, the Pachamama Blends should be a great option. La Vid Coffee Roasters is the best if you require remote work with an excellent-tasting coffee. You can walk pretty much anytime and everywhere in the town securely. If you're into trekking and walking, we recommend CA Travelers; there are tours for all the volcanos nearby.

Goes to the top of one of my favorite towns on the planet.
Goes to the top of one of my favorite towns on the planet. The view of the volcano from the whole city is to die for. I love that the walls are ALL so colourful. You can walk almost the whole town! Not much traffic since bigger cars don’t usually come in. Absolutely AWESOME bars and cafés. Amazing shopping of handmade, traditional Guatemalan art, also in many little markets!
Must walk up the hill to watch the view. The best attraction is the Acatenango Volcano hike. Also super easy to travel to anywhere else from there, with shuttles almost all the time.

There is no problem with Antigua - charming and unique...
There is no problem with Antigua - charming and unique experience -- we are really pleased that we did it BUT BUT the problem is getting there and back - from Guatemala City -- TERRIBLE TERRIBLE traffic - it took 3 hours to get to the GUA airport (with a taxi) ... and the distance is only 30 some kilometers - work out the speed (even leaving at 7:00am) yourself. (we were fortunate as someone told us about the problem and we calculated 5 hours to make our flight - which worked out)
If you should go plan on arriving late in the day - after 18:00 (out arrival was about 19:00 (7pm) and it took only about 1 1/2 hours but morning trips -- plan on leaving early - like at 5:00 am or even earlier for any flights around lunch time.
Or perhaps there is another way to get to Antigua.??? That would be a solution but we know of no other way.
The pollution is just incredibly bad e.g., old buses - that haven't been tuned for years running on poorly refined diesel and you are trapped sitting in a queue for hours behind them -- so if you have any respiratory problems don't go there.

Such a beautiful city!
Such a beautiful city! I wish I had planned for more than 3 days. Take a walking tour and a food tour. Don't miss the hidden speakeasy U'Lew. The food is so affordable here! Try local favorites at Rinconcito - even fast food places have fresher food than in the US. Checkout the beautiful grounds of the Starbucks. Don't miss visiting the Monastery - it was the least crowded spot in town and the most beautiful!

The owner Alvaro is very friendly and helpful. He made us feel right at home, provided information about transportation, booked a shuttle to Atitlán for us, and even helped us out after our stay. He held on to our stuff while we went on the two day Acatenango hike. The location of the property is good. Close to the view point. It was quiet and peaceful.
Perfect location in the middle of Antigua Guatemala. Many restaurants are at walking distance. Very clean hotel with beautiful interior patio and sitting areas to relax. Nice roof top with a view to a couple of volcanoes. Got to see from the roof top the Volcan de Fuego throwing fire at night.
Did not eat breakfast at the hotel but had a wonderful room with a view of the courtyard. Also had close access to the rooftop patio and enjoyed this. Staff was super helpful in arranging side trips and transportation.
