Great breakfast buffet and great service. Many good options and delicious honey and yoghurt.
Good recommendations what to do in and around Volos. We especially enjoined our trip up the Pelion mountain behind Volos, incredible views, and then through the beautiful woods to the other side of the peninsula. The beaches are gorgeous, the best one is Megali Milopotamos

Nice city with a pretty seaside, with vibes of Thessaloniki.
Nice city with a pretty seaside, with vibes of Thessaloniki. The "tsipouradika" are a thing to try out for the local night life, if you're into hitting the booze a bit. The seafood was pretty neat overall. Didn't have the chance to visit the surrounding region, but I've heard wonders and will have to check it out some day.

Volos is okay.
Volos is okay. We were transiting for one night (going between Skopelos and Thessaloniki) and it was great for that. The pavement surfaces for the walk from Volos town to the main bus station are in part a bit rough. The Tourist Information office is near the main bus station but it is not possible to see any indication of it from the bus station, so we missed it entirely until - too late - our return to the bus station.

Volos is a much more calm and laid back town than Athens or Thessaloniki. It's also noticeably cleaner and safer. There aren't that many tourists around and it seemed like most of them were Greeks on holidays. There's not much to see in terms of historical monuments, unless you go up the Pelion Mountain to Makrinitsa or to the western outskirts where archeological sites are located. I would say that car is a must for both of those places. In the center there's a very nice seaside promenade, archeological museum, three beautiful churches of Agios Nikolaos, Metamorphosis and Agios Konstantinos. The latter located on the shoreside has some neo-byzantine mosaics inside which are worth seeing. If you're interested in the byzantine era, you can see some fragments of the walls near the train station where the medieval city was located. Nothing spectacular though. Volos has quite a lot of walkable streets with car traffic restrictions which allows for relaxed walks. Don't be intimidated by narrow backstreets. You can find some of the best bars around there.

Volosz is an interesting town with several sights to see both in town and in the surroundings. You can taste the way of Greek life there. People are kind and easy going. There are plenty of good restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy nice Greek food. In the surroundings you can find wonderful beaches and seashores as well as nice mounten villages(Makrenica). You can organize a complex vacation if you go there: hiking, paddling (Damukari Shakayak is just perfect) , just enjoying the beaches and sunbathing; cultural activities in the museums and archeological sites (eg Dimini).

Volos is one of the most amazing cities in Greece with close proximity to both beautiful mountains and villages and the lovely islands of Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos. The region is still recovering from the catastrophic floods of 2023... so for now its mostly the mountains around Pylion that are most attractive.

A very interesting city at the foot of Mount Pilion.
A very interesting city at the foot of Mount Pilion. With lots of small villages on both sides of the mountain to visit. And a longish drive to edge of the peninsula and its village, Trikeri. Plus at least two extremely important archaeological sites, Sesklo and Dimini, to visit

We booked the hotel at 20:30h on a Saturday ( we had to stay unexpectedly due to the floods in Volos). Even though the receptionist's shift ended in 30 minutes, the lady was so kind to make up our room, so it could accommodate my son. She arranged a breakfast for us and was very helpful and kind. The room was very clean and spacious, the bed was very big and comfortable. The room has a nice balcony, a coffee machine, and a desk. It could fit 3 people perfectly.
It is a gorgeous hotel with amazing amenities that will step up your vacation. The room was spotless, with great and calm interior. The breakfast was nice, and it was great value for money. I will definitely be staying there next time I’m in Volos. They made sure our pet was welcome and even put a little bowl for his food/water in the room, which was very thoughtful! Shoutout to Vivi, she was extremely helpful and polite!
The Aegli Hotel is very conveniently located near the port of Vólos with all areas of the city easily accessible on foot. The rooms have been decorated to a very pleasing standard and are immaculately clean throughout. The staff are all very respectful and obliging. An ample breakfast is provided in an especially designated breakfast room. A perfect hotel to choose.
