Stavros is a growing resort expanding an old greek fishing and trading port. In the old schoolhouse in the Upper Town there is a museum of Stavros life in times gone by, very interesting. There are many excellent eating places and it is best appreciated by those who understand the Greek way of life.

We often spend our summers in Stavros or the surrounding area. It is a city that offers tourists starting from a beautiful sea, sandy beaches, a port with the possibility of fishing, traditional Greek cuisine, a market on Thursdays...

Busy little beach town with a lot of tourists, shops and restaurants. Not your place if you are looking for quiet summer, but great place to be if you are social or with small children. Most of the tourists are from Serbia, Bulgaria and North Macedonia and in some restaurants they even speak the languages. Beaches are great for little kids and the seafood is excellent.

Stavros is a very touristic place in the summer and only has very nice beaches and a touristic center with he standard touristic shops. If you prefer that it is an excellent place to go to. If you do not like crowded touristic places and prefer authentic less crowded places therer are more authentic Greek villages at the coast in the direction of Alexandroupolis. But still Stavros is a nice place to visit for maybe two days ( if you prefer quietness) and then continue along the coast. Overall this part of Greece is very nice and Greek people are very friendly and helpful.

Small city but pretty nice.
Small city but pretty nice. Most of the terraces are in the centre, only few terraces on the beach - so if you want to eat local food (no fast foods) you should select a beach with own terrace.
There is a central pedestrian road where you can buy a lot of things but also you can go in a walk thru the streets and you'll find also local shops pretty nice.

If you are one of those people who do not mind what they eat and prefer to spend a quiet and unpretentious vacation, then Stavros will meet your expectations. In my opinion, there is only one restaurant where the food is at a good level.
The staff is very friendly and welcoming, the room was clean and very nice-they changed the sheets and the towels every day. The view to the sea and the mountain is breathtaking. The breakfast was superb. The hotel beach is great - big enough for all guests with lots more space between the umbrellas than on the Stavros beaches. We stayed for 8 nights and for sure will return next year.
The location was impressive - on a walk distance between Stavros and Vrasna, good beach with enough empty space around for feeling the nature, many times even windy. Our terrace was with sea and mountain view both ( room 205)
It is the perfect place to bring children, dogs, bikes...
Nice building and overall nice pool. Very nice and long breakfast (until 11). Suite and rooms with balcony are very nice. Hotel team warmed up during the stay. Very close to nice beach’s and various beach bars. Close to town. Quiet.
