Perigiali, hotel in Skiros

Located in Skiros, a 8-minute walk from Molos Beach, Perigiali has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a bar.

Excellent location and value for money. Steps away from beautiful beaches/shoreline. The room was ultra clean, and had all necessary amenities. The property as a whole was very well kept and aesthetically appealing. Great for families with young kids as well (playground on site). There was a delicious breakfast buffet daily, too! Our host Antonis and the staff were super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. I highly recommend this place, and we will definitely go back!!

The best part is that it is still local and peaceful and not...

The best part is that it is still local and peaceful and not over touristy because it does not have international airport and is not the closest from the islands to take a ferry to, so even in Summer months it is not too crowded other than maybe a couple of main streets during evening dinner time. In peak season you can still find beaches almost just for yourself and plenty of room even in the most popular easy access ones. Also, a very good thing that in the heat of the Summer it is one of those places in Greece that is remarkably cooler due to its location: if mainland is 35, it is only 30 etc. Now that the Summers are getting way too hot, it is a very positive thing. You can stay in a popular restaurant hearing just Greek and seeing just locals, so it feels authentic. It is also interestingly diverse, because the South is try and sunkissed, the North is lush, so you get many worlds in one place. There are secret gems like a beach with the shipwreck but even that you get just for yourself. If looking for beach life, just be aware of the wind direction as the waves get pretty big if you are on the "wrong side" and beach if the weather is windier. Google or ask the locals to go to a calmer bay then.

I loved Skyros(Skyros) and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

I loved Skyros(Skyros) and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I stayed in the village for 2 days. Then I spent a week at Atsitsa with Skyros Holidays dot com. Following that. I spent a further two nights at Perigiali Hotel. I was very happy with my choice. Make sure when you are booking hotels and flights that you book for the same island. When I arrived, I met a couple who had booked their hotel on Siros but flew to Skiros! Skiros is a quiet island so not for the party people but I enjoyed the peace and friendliness.

    The old town, or Chora.

The old town, or Chora. But you have to be mobile to access it on foot. Worth the effort. To get the best out of Skiros, a car is recommended. We had 'trouble' with a taxi driver coming from the port, but our hosts were upset on our behalf and personally took us back on our return ( via a deliberately longer route) so we saw mountain villages, churches and views we never would have known about. So kind.

Skiros has everything a traveller could want, except big disco's and party places. Other than that it has sun, surf, nature, food, food, food, really great people, no crowds, little or no traffic, and more great people. Did I mention the food? I think you get my drift. And the Anemos Seaside House is definitely one of a kind. Totally unique and absolutely fabulous.

There are very few reviews of this island.

There are very few reviews of this island. Most tourists are Greek except for in Atsitsa where you'll find many British and other nationalities due to the English-based wellness resort there (the reason I went there too). I flew to Skyros from Athens, it seemed the best value and quickest way to get there (30 mins flight). Then took a taxi to my apartment - please prebook the taxi as its a tiny airport with no taxis readily available. I booked a random apartment based on how it looked with no idea of locations. Locals are super friendly, location ended up being close to perfect and within walking distance of the beach and the town centre (40 mins walk- sounds long but it's a part of the experience). Town centre is pretty amazing and definitely worth a visit with many small shops and restaurants, English spoken in most places and beautiful historical architecture. View in every direction is stunning. Beaches will differ based on where you are - from sandy beaches to pebble beaches. I found the water to be a little cooler than I was hoping for but as the heat wave continued, the water heated up. I personally would rebook closer to the town centre as it gives you many more options of things to do, plus you have many beaches around you (Molos, Gyrismata etc). Atsitsa is probably the most beautiful place I've been to but its mostly pebble beaches. Be prepared to reserve money for cab rides as its hard to get around Skyros otherwise, unless you rent a car/bike. Trips from most parts of the island to the town centre costs around EU$30-40. Overall, I'll definitely be back as it's not too touristy, has tons of character, friendly locals and amazing views.

The small port of Linaria is charming, clean, beautiful and it feels safe to walk around Delicious Greek food with friendly Greek staff abounds in the tavernas. I enjoyed watching families and children enjoying the port and eating, in this small yacht and fishing port. Staying at King Lykomides with beautiful rooms with beautiful views of the Linaria port and welcoming host Soula was the best! The arrival of the ferry in Linaria is complete with music and joy. There is a small beach about a ten minute walk from the port where you can rent umbrellas and lounge chair and eat at a family run taverna. Also you can take a taxi or rent a car to visit Magazia beach and the authentic old village town square. This was an authentic Greek island experience.

Gaia Loft was exactly what we want for a short stay in Skyros : a totally new complex, fully equipped, excellent location for relaxing and enjoying sunrise, very clean and owners willing to serve. Photos 100% accurate. Location on the side of a hill. The island is small thus all the beaches and tavernas are only few km away from the complex. Since August is a high vacation period, we consider the price fair vs. of what we got back.

Almond Farm is an idyllic & peaceful retreat. The house is traditional Skyros style but very well equipped and the outside spaces and terrace areas are just perfect for relaxing breakfasts or dinners. it’s also well situated in the middle of the island, 15’ walk from Kalamitsa beach and 15’ drive from the Hora. We loved our stay here and Makis is a friendly, helpful & hospitable host.

Very comfortable and modern apartment. They clean it every day. There is free parking space outside of the facility. The location is quiet but very by the car close to other places that are worth visiting. The owner is very friendly and helpful and always available to give advice and options for the island.

Very nice family run apartments; conveniently located, clean and with friendly staff. George and his son Dinos were always available to help out, share tips about the island, suggest places to visit and restaurants to eat. The apartment we stayed in was nicely decorated and cleaned every day.
