First of all, the hospitality was incredible. The grandmother made some very delicious food for us. The apartment was perfect, with two bedrooms and bathrooms, including one big living room. The location is perfect as well, 3 minutes to the water by foot, and not more than 5 minutes to the city center of Poros.
I totally recommend this place to everyone who wants to enjoy their stay in Kefalonia. 🫡

The view was amazing. Watching all the activities in the harbour and the boats and ferry coming and going. The sunrise effect was also beautiful although we had to drive about 5 minutes to see the actual sunrise as we were behind the mountains.

Although there were some teenagers and travellers in their 20s, it is a peaceful place, which brings back the memories of another, calmer era. Tavernas and bakeries are great, you can see and meet the locals. If you want to forget about your busy days at home, this is the right place.

Poros is almost a ghost-town.
Poros is almost a ghost-town. There are alot of abandoned buildings, very few people around and not too much facilities. There are just 2 small markets, and few souvenir stores on the main street.
Food is decent, but nothing great. There are 10-15 restaurants to choose from, but they have almost the same food, not terrible, but medium quality.
The beach is not great. Definetly not what would you expect from Greece. There are only few spots with clear water and clean beach. Once was a nice town, but now looks abandoned and only a few old people living there.
And the main problem is that is located very south and on the eastern coast of the island. The island is very big, and greatest beaches are on the north-west side of the island. It took like 2h of driving to get to a beautiful beach. Roads are ok, but there are in the mountains. There are no cool beaches around Poros.
If you want to see some blue-turquoise water and amazing beach, you will not find that here. Its quite and cosy, but when you want to see the "greece water" you have to take an 1:30-2h roadtrip through the mountains.

Poros is a small but friendly village.
Poros is a small but friendly village. Plenty of choice for places to eat including gluten free options. Long pebble beach with beautifully clear water for snorkelling. Regular car and passenger ferries and options for trips to Ithaca and Zante from the small port area. Generally public transport (bus) is poor but car, motorbike, quad bike and bicycle hire is available. Lots of ATMs but no bank.

Poros beach is a pebble beach.
Poros beach is a pebble beach. Most sandy beaches can be found in the southern part of the island. But Poros was good for snorkeling. Close to restaurants and shopping. Conveniently a port for the ferry to the mainland can be found in this town.

I travelled late in the season (late September) so it was quiet but with most restaurants and cafes open. Hard to say how busy it would be in peak season as many apartments and some shops were closed up.
Some lovely restaurants on the beach and a few tourist shops plus good supermarket, fruit and fish shops. Interesting to watch the boats coming in/out if the harbour and if you're lucky you get to see dolphins!!

The staff at the hotel were incredible welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.
The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable.
The place where the hotel is located is quiet, close to the beach with many taverns around, boutiques for the supply of souvenirs, there is also a basketball court 3 minutes walk away
Mr. Antonis guided us to find the most beautiful places on the island and beaches. He also helped us book various trips around the island.
With his help, our vacation was excellent!
We will definitely come back to Anemos Hotel!
The view from the balcony was fabulous, the staff was very nice and helpful, the breakfast had sufficient options and was delicious (the variety of Greek traditional cheeses was very tasty), the room was spacious enough, the cleaning was made everyday. All in all we don’t regret booking this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone coming in Kefalonia.
Big apartment with lots of space for a family of 6 . Quiet location with a village feel to it and very close to the beach and Centre of poros . Balcony was a perfect spot for breakfast or a drink at night while watching the beautiful view
Fantastic service and amazing breakfast, Anna could not do enough for us. Hotel was perfectly sited, across the road from the beach and our room had a beach view including sunrise each morning.
One of the friendliest and most hospitable hosts we’ve had the pleasure of staying with. Stunning apartment with beautiful views of Poros. Well worth staying here if you are in the area.
