The rooms are immaculate and nicely furnished with exposed wood beams and french windows, and both the room and our private patio were comfortable with grand views. The hotel has a beautiful forever pool, and bar, and in the morning puts out a fine breakfast spread featuring a broad array of Cretan delicacies, we thought a good value (a charge was incurred for this.) Myrthios is known for several excellent restaurants which did not disappoint, and is an excellent base to exploring the southern Cretan coast around Plakias, which is an easy one mile hike down the hill. Our host Bellisario(sp?) was most helpful in everything including excursion ideas.

Room itself was beautiful. Pool looked nice but we didn't use it since the hotel is within a couple minutes walking/driving distance of multiple incredible beaches. Air conditioning was nice. Staff were super helpful with finding good beaches and restaurants nearby.

The pool is amazing, really deep and large; perfect for escaping from the heat. The breakfast is very good; there are many options and delicious homemade biscuits too. The location is perfect as it is overlooking Plakias but far enough from the crowds. The staff is overall good and attentive. They gave us very good tips on local restaurants and beaches.

The name in Greek means "flat" but the approach and coastline are quite mountainous and dramatic. Small hotels and many beachfront restaurants & cafes. The large crescent bay of sandy beach and the harbour provide a varied and yet not too busy destination.

Plakias is a beautiful place.
Plakias is a beautiful place. Not so big it feels overwhelming but big enough to have a good selection of nice bars and Tavernas to visit. The people are friendly, and the streets are clean. The gorge that you drive through to get to Plakias is also spectactular.

Plakias is a small, quiet town which has not yet been ruined...
Plakias is a small, quiet town which has not yet been ruined by mass tourism, and so stands out from other places on the southern side of the island. It has a cute waterfront promenade flanked by a wide range of shops, cafes, and restaurants, most of which seem to serve decent if not excellent food. There is a long sandy beach, with shallow and limpid waters, and a small river dissecting the town in two and hosting a small flock of barbary ducks. Although distances in Crete can be difficult to handle, Plakias is also a good base to explore the surrounding coastline, and some of the truly impressive dune beaches to the west (Orthi Ammos) and the east (Triopetra, Agios Pavlos) are well within reach.

Last minute booking coming off the beach to save us a trip back to Malia. Lovely hotel. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot. Breakfast was enjoyable and crossed the road to eat it on the seafront. Would recommend for a short stay. Would book again if in the area.

Plakias in June is the right place to spend active holiday...
Plakias in June is the right place to spend active holiday both in misty mountain gorges and beautiful sunny beaches. Nobody will get bored here if he doesn’t expect mass attractions but active holiday. However it is very useful to rent a car.
Really great stay as a couple at NEREA. From arrival to goodbye, the staff is at your service the whole time, smiles included. Location is a bonus, if you like the beatch, beach bars, local restaurants and small beach towns, as all of that is only 20 steps away from your hotel doorstep. The hotel is perfectly up to date, clean as a whistle and has everything you need to sit back and relax, the spacious terrace not to say the least. Would recommend this for sure! Gertjan & Severine
Very good location in a quiet area at few minutes from noisy central street. Own parking lot which is very comfortable in a busy village.Very good value for money offered by the medium sized studio. Beautiful sea view from the balcony. Also nice green area in front of the building.
Interiors are kept clean. Generally all looks as South Crete shoyld keep its authentic style.
Very kind hosts that makes all their best to give their guest a pleasant stay.
The host is super friendly, and always there. Location is hard to beat, in the very center of Plakias. If you are there for partying in Plakias or for excursions, this lace is great. Plenty of parking space around.
It is not a 5* hotel, but a charming (in a simple way) place to spend the nights.
If you are there for the beach, this is probably not a place for you - although the beach is very close, it is on the other side of the road.
The villas are in a perfect, peaceful location near the beach, with the bars and restaurants in the town a short 15 minute walk away. They are very modern, comfortable and well equipped. The hosts are lovely and sorted an issue we had with the air con very quickly and even offered to let us use a spare villa while it was broken! Overall a fantastic stay and would recommend the villas to anyone wanting to stay in Crete.
Beautifully stylish and spacious accommodation, friendly staff, peaceful location. and amazing breakfast .
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in Crete
