The place is marvelous, next to the seaside, in Marathopolis with lots of cafes and taverns and 10' by car from wonderful sandy beaches. This is a value for money hotel, an ideal place to navigate Messinia, a place blessed by God.

The whole place was very clean and the hosts were great. The rooms were large with huge balcony with lounge chairs table and chairs, even had a cloths drying rack. The room had a kitchenette with necessary utensils (although we did not cook in). Had optional breakfast downstairs with nice restaurant and seating. The whole building was beautiful and the views were lovely. Once the marina construction is finished, it will be spectacular. Location was perfect. Waterfront, restaurants, shops were right around there. Love this little town, although I may be a bit biased because we’ve made lots of friends here over the years. This was our first stay at Faros and most definitely will not be our last. Thanks Stelio and family.

I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with several friends, so the quiet little rural seaside town suited me. The harbour is being structurally rebuilt so I couldn't get a boat out to Proti island which was a disappointment. There are a few good beaches along the generally rugged coastline and some lovely restaurants in town. The agricultural nature of area means that it is not consistently pristine and there is a fair amount of farmers' litter evident. It would be ideal to have had a car for more exploring.

Nice town, lots of places to eat suiting all budgets. Couple of bakeries, supermarkets. Waterfront locations but some nice places on the second row in too. Friendly working town, most of the tourists were Greek and probably outnumbered by locals. Good base, lots close by.

Marathopoli is a nice small (fisher) village.
Marathopoli is a nice small (fisher) village. Easy to find, cosy. Few tavernas, excellent view to the sea. In the village itself is not much to see or do. But its a good starting pint to go and explore nearby towns (Pylos, Methoni etc), a number of beaches. Kalamata on not far away.

Marathopolis appears to be in the midst of a big push to...
Marathopolis appears to be in the midst of a big push to improve its tourist potential, just as Pilos, Gialova and the surrounding coast have transformed into upmarket resorts over the past twenty years. However, even though the town does have a large selection of seaside resaurants and bars leading out of the port, they are hampered by the extremely rocky coastline for some miles north and south. A pity, since this will make all the difference to the tourist market.

CLOSE TO THE OUR MOST POPULAR BEACHES,RESTAURANTS,BARS.
I GO OFTEN THERE FOR DRINKS OR SUPPER, SHOPPING...ONCE IN AWHILE I CHOOSE TO STAY THERE FOR A FEW NIGHTS.
Mesogeios Hotel is a comfortable hotel in a quiet place directly by the seashore, with well-equipped spacy appartements. Its staff is very friendly. It is on walking distance from the nice Lagkouvardos Beach and short driving distance from beautiful Voidokilia, Romanos and Chrysi Akti beaches. It is also on a short distance from a small, but beautiful and interesting historical town Pylos.
The view from the apartment is stunning! The apartment has everything you need and there are lots of comfortable/relaxing seats to look at the sea. The apartment is located closely to the town of Marathopoli with nice restaurants and supermarkets. It is a good point to explore closeby beaches (such as Voidokilia) and archeological sites (Pylos, Olympia).
Callisto Seaside Homes and Suites is an excellent hotel in front of a nice beach. Facilities are very new and well equipped, while also rooms were very clean. I wish also to mention the assistance provided to our side by Mrs Konstantina at reception, who was very polite and helpful, giving much info for nearby area, always having a big smile.
Artina is a very pretty hotel in front of the sea in Marathoupoli. We stayed in the new building and everything was pristine. The owners were very kind and helpful, the cleaning lady as well.
Nice, big rooms with great beds and many pillows. Fully equipped kitchenette and lovely balcony to relax in front of the sea.
Very nice place, nice design, thought-through, close to the beach, good wifi even for work, big tv with netflix app - just log in and have a nice evening:) + a great fish restaurant in marathopoli just few km south
