Pothos was like a home from home. As a solo traveller you can sometimes feel a little bit uncomfortable in some hotels and apartments. This was never the case here. I was made to feel warmly looked after at every opportunity. It was such a lovely place. Hopefully i will be able to return in Sept this year.
The accomodation is classically Greek apartment style but the rooms, surroundings, pool and bar area were spotless and there was an aurra of care. It is so clearly a treasured family business. The little things like a trip to the bar were made a pleasure as the welcome was so amazing. I feel blessed to have picked here to stay and to have met such great hosts.

The location was great right on the sea.The sea was beautiful. Some of the staff were great. The cleaning ladies were good. The air conditioning in the room was good. The town was so cute with lots of great restaurants and bars.

We thought we got really lucky with the location and the accommodation, but when we got there and stayed we realised just How lucky we truly were with our choice!
Because besides brilliant spot and cosy, relaxing, modern, sharp, tidy, interesting, complex surroundings, the People working there wrapped it all up to be the best holiday.
Managers, family business, people who works for over a decade, staff who are diligent and open hearted, gives their best for you to have the rest you came for. They look after the staff working with them and That is felt by the people who came for holiday. They are All very welcoming, diligent, honest and kind, simple yet reliable and professional, with raw humane friendliness and connection.

Unlike other hotels, like Letsos (we also had experience with them), Valais aren't there to take as much money from you at every step as possible, no hidden/extra fees, no surprises and schemes.
They do their best at treating you the way they would like to be treated, and That was felt to the very core of the heart. That is why they have been successful and will Keep doing so. Definitely not the last time seeing them.

It is a very spacious villa, incredibly clean, and has a very hospitable and friendly owner. They provided us with welcome wine and Zakynthos sweets, all the essentials for the first days of our stay, such as bread, ham and cheese, water, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, and much more. The villa was cleaned every other day and all the sheets and towels were changed. The owner's mother even brought us homemade Mosaka :-)
The villa is very quiet and without any neighbours. The view was fantastic and much better than the pictures. All the facilities were working in very good condition. There was a big BBQ and several beds in the garden.

On our first visit, during the day, we found that the cruise boat touts were quite aggressive, dominating every car park available, and tried to stop you whilst travelling. Felt very intimated, so moved on, and this really spoilt our first visit.
We returned at a later time at around 5 pm, when they had gone home and found this a much better time to visit where we could enjoy a peaceful stroll and visit the local shops and Taverna.
This experience could be off putting for many new visitors and maybe the activities should be more restrained.

I really loved the area of Agios Nikolaos and would stay here again. My only caution is to rent a car. It's not near town and you can't walk from location to location. But it's quiet, and it's beautiful in Agios Nikolaos.

Agios Nikolaos and its surroundings is "nature beauty" and is very tranquil. This location is not very suitable for small children. There are few beaches and the beaches are rocky and pebble. Not many opportunities to rent umbrella and sunbeds. On the other hand there are many options to rent a boat and admire the beauty of the sea. The sea is crystal clear.
We liked Nobelos restaurant. You definitely need a car in this area.

The house is a perfect holiday house and in a nice calm location. The house is very well equipped and nothing is missing. It is also getting well cleaned every 3 days. The Seaview is great (top sunrise). Within walking distance good restaurants and one small beach. We loved the day we rented a boat from the Port nearby and Makris Gialos beach a few Kms by car away.

Lovely beach with lots of fish to see while snorkelling, my favourite pastime. It was easy to get from the port to other areas of the island and lots of boat trips to go on. Lots of restaurants cafes and bars to keep us fed and watered!
Great location overlooking Agios Nikolaos, there are some excellent restaurants nearby, and Agios is perfect for hiring a boat or popping to a bar. You are about 20 minutes from the shipwreck beach. Get up early and see the sun rise, or stay up late and turn all the lights off and look at the stars.
All the staff were amazingly hospitable, and Dimitris was a wonderful host, who even helped us recover our car when the rear wheels got stuck when the ground behind our car collapsed when visiting a local restaurant.
Everything from the welcoming, service by Irene & other staff members to the room, view and the facility as a whole was exceptional and over our expectations!
If you’re hesitating, don’t be, it’s 10x better in person than on pictures. The view is one of the best I’ve seen after staying at many hotels with great views.
Amazing apartment, totally equipped, stunning view - the size of the pool is more than we expected. Breakfast is served in the apartment - so maximum privacy whenever you ask for. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
In summary it's worth every Euro and we enjoyed every single second at this hotel.
