I don't want to comment on Aegina because it's getting too busy and
popular, hence it becomes more expensive and it's not fair on the local people.
It may loose it's charm like so many other island!!!!!!!!!

A lovely island, which has kept its traditional character.
A lovely island, which has kept its traditional character. Hospitable, well-mannered, beautiful people. With a lot of artisans offering sublime hand-made pieces, not the typical souvenirs. Aegina town is a place with unique flair and positive vibes. The island's proximity to Athens, makes it ideal for day / weekend trips, but also for longer stays. The combination of beaches, marinas, traditional architecture, delicious sea food, cleanliness and excellent services make it unbeatable.

We stayed not too far from the port in Aegina Town.
We stayed not too far from the port in Aegina Town. The location was perfect. Many places to eat with amazing food and lots of shopping opportunities, I recommend hiring a car for one or two days and heading to one of the many other beaches that are further east. Agia Marina Beach is one of them. There are beaches that aren’t too far away and you can walk to, like Kolona Beach and the closest beach Avra Beach.

Beautiful beaches everywhere!
Beautiful beaches everywhere! The ports were cute and lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. The sea view restaurants added to the experience. Many sightseeing places to drive to as well. EASY to drive around the island. Noce experience taking the fast ferry from Piraeus to Aegina Port. Most beautiful and fine sand beach was Agina Marina. Danae Hotel was WONDERFUL. We got a spectacular sea view!!! Perfect time on Aegina!!

Aegina Town is a vibrant place full of cafes, restaurants, clothing and tourist shops. There are fruit sellers beside the marina selling the most delicious fresh fruit. It’s easy to visit the rest of the island using the local buses which cost only 2 Euros. A day trip to Ag Marina is highly recommended if you like swimming and sunbathing. The last group of beach umbrellas are free to use. You can buy drinks and food from the restaurant behind. They do beach service. Perdika is a nice day trip, especially if you go to Moni Island as well.
The Temple of Aphaia and Palachora are easily accessed by the local bus service. I enjoyed eating at Dromaki, where I had melt in your mouth, slow cooked lamb.

Everything! Electra is a small hotel 2mins from the port and many restaurants/shops/cafes in Aegina Town. Mr John was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The room was kept very clean by Fanny and the cakes left for us each day were lovely. Good recommendations from Mr John and was easy to get the bus to other beaches - we visited Agia Marina and Marathon A, and thought they were nicer than the local beach in Aegina Town.
Nice hotel, beautiful view from the balcony, comfortable room. Breakfast is very good, personal at the hotel is amazing. Helpfull, friendly. Nice pool area, pool bar. It was our 4th time here and we hope to come again. the hotel is located very close to the beach, walking distance from the ferry, walking distance to the city center. Very easy to explore the island by taxi, rent car or motorbike.
Wonderful staffs in a very nice and cute hotel. I love it's old style and how it's just a walking distance from the port, to the bus stop, restaurants, etc. The rooms are very clean, with everything you need, and even little things for coffee and tea are provided, with bottle of water everyday. Thank you for making our last day of vacation in Greece a completely memorable one.
The pool was superb, the room was super cosy with a great and spacious balcony. Breakfast was okay given the low price of the room. The hotel is 10-15 minutes on foot from Aegina town.
It s a lovely family run hotel, perfectly located near town and (rocky) beach. The pool and solarium are very nice, lots of space. It’s very clean, well kept and has beautiful views.
