Front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Price was excellent for gibraltar and the rooms are big clean and not modern. The location was in the middle of town. I walked there from the border.

Sunborn Gibraltar: what a cool idea: a ship as hotel, with beautiful view on harbor, sea and the Rock!

Our host told us that Gibraltar was expensive to eat out in, and he always crossed the border into Spain to eat out, we wished we had taken his advice. We didn't have a nice meal out in Gibraltar, maybe we picked the wrong places, of course. Climbing the rock is a must, but one of the other highlights is being able to walk across the airport runway when you enter or leave Gibraltar.

I stayed three nights (including New Year when most things were closed) and had a ball. Walked 25000 steps each day and did it all except for the Mediterranean Steps (not sure my 62 year old legs would have enjoyed them) and there are easier ways to enjoy a view. I recommend buying an all day Hopper tickets and get on busses 2 and 8 to get a good idea of where you are. It's also an easy way to visit Europa Point, Jews Gate (for Martin's Path which I really enjoyed) and getting around to the East side. When on top of the Rock (the Cable Car I found helpful but dirty and uncleaned including in the cafe toilets where the bins were overflowing at 10am) I recommended you start at the spectacular St Michael's Cave and work your way north ending with the Moorish Castle. Even though I had a return ticket I just walked down steps to get into town.

A fantastic gem of a destination.
A fantastic gem of a destination. A very small place, but packed with lots to see and do. A unique mix if British and Spanish feel to the location.
The rock is amazing, I took the cable car up to the top of the rock explored on foot on the way down. St Michaels cave is beautiful, the monkeys were well behaved and adorable, and the siege and WW2 tunnels are amazing.
The entire place has a laid back and relaxed atmosphere, It is easy to get everywhere by foot, but there is public transport available too. The boat trip to see the dolphins was worth it too.
I highly reccommend 48 hours here.

Full of history and historical venues, like the WW2 tunnels.
Full of history and historical venues, like the WW2 tunnels. Geologically very interesting and spectacular, eg St. Michael's Cave. Take a shared taxi tour of the Rock which includes all tickets for the different attractions! We parked our car in La Linea in Spain and used taxis in Gibraltar.
There is a variety of restaurants, Morroccan, Spanish, English, pub grub...
Go to Queensway Quay Marina for an especially nice evening meal.

Lots to see and do, good for walking but local bus services are excellent and not too costly. Tip - don't buy bus tickets online as you can buy single, return or day hopper tickets on the bus and can now pay by card. Online you pay a service charge. Good range of restaurants. Our favourite was Nuno's on Devils Tower Road. We ate there every day apart from Monday when they're closed. On different days we had breakfast, lunch or dinner there and all was excellent. Our trip up the rock wasn't great because we didn't have a guide. Not adviseable unless you're very fit and like hiking up and down hilly roads. The map provided when you get onto the cable car isn't much use and things are much further apart than they appear. Signs were few and far between and difficult to spot. Even Google Maps struggled to find the tunnels. I would advise using one of the organised tours by taxi or mini bus if you want to see everything. The views from the top are amazing, though. Be aware that you can't buy alcohol in shops after 9pm. Also, we only found fresh milk in Morrisons. Many people say La Linea isn't worth a visit but we walked across the border and enjoyed walking round the shops and restaurants there. We also went to the beach to look back and get a different view of the rock. Everyone we came across in Gibraltar was very friendly and helpful. Everywhere was well-maintained. The only downside is the heavy traffic and accompanying smell of fumes and air pollution.

I travel to Gibraltar every year to see family. So for me I understand how expensive staying in Gibraltar can be, so this properly made the trip ideal, with the price offered, included in that, you get much better facilities then a standard hotel, with a kitchen area bathroom, washing machine and stunning view looking over the marina waterfront, with Spain in the distance, you can't knock it. Location to casemates is a 10 min walk maximum with Morrisons and everything else close to your door step.
As the name implies, the hotel is situated on the slopes of the Rock and has good views of the Bay of Algeciras and the Straits of Gibraltar. The nearest marina for restaurants is about a 15 minute walk away, the rest of the town about 20 - 25 mins. Walks back to the hotel are always uphill, but it's a gentle climb. The hotel itself, though recently refurbished, still has a colonial feel. We had a very relaxing stay there. Reception staff very helpful.
The staff were amazingly nice and helpful, the answer to any request was always yes! I'd like to mention Alvaro at reception, who was so charming and nice, and in the dining/bar area, Hayal who was a delight. Thanks again to both.
The location of the hotel couldn't be better, I can't imagine being in Gibraltar without staying here again.

Bed was very comfortable it was just what you needed for a great holiday we really recommend this apartment hotel easy to go every where in Gibraltar !!!’
