The Canionel guesthouse is situated right at the Martvili canyon, in the middle of the tourist attractions, and next to the visitor center. During the day, the area is very busy with tourists arriving for the day. Very calm during the night, when the tourists have gone. The rooms were comfortable, simple and very clean. We had a little balcony which I loved. You can make your own coffee and tea at a table next to reception and there is a restaurant serving beautiful Georgian dishes attached to the hotel. Staff were very friendly. We had a great jeep tour to visit the waterfalls with the hotel manager.

A lovely place to stay and an excellent location for exploring the canyons and caves north-east of Kutaisi. I had a great time staying here even though the work on the guesthouse is not finished. I didn't expect to find myself in such an out-of-the-way, rural setting, and to meet such a lovely family who offered me excellent tea and good persimmon. I had a great time playing UNO and teaching the kids a few words of french. I recommend it! I'm sure that when it's all finished, it will be an incredible guesthouse!

The hosts are nice and one of the ladies speaks english very well! She works in Martvilli canyon and knows a lot to do around.
Super clean room and bathroom, and we could use the washing machine. They even provided detergent for us. Suuuuper kind!

It was clean and comfortable. We had a good stay although there was no electricity. The hosts were responsive and very kind.
The village was so authentic. We saw Georgians living their everyday rural lives, with cows and pigs grazing and roosters crowing. We loved the region because the villages were tidy, clean, and well taken care of.
Definitely take a trail to Oniore and Toba waterfalls. Kaghu is also very beautiful and easy to get.
Stores can be difficult to get.
