Wooler is a great base for walking in the Cheviots and has good public transport connections if needed. The town is small but has a good selection of shops and a supermarket. Its location means good weather can often be expected when other places further west are wet.

Wooler is basically just one main street with shops some of which were closed on the day we were there. We were disappointed to find the bookshop closed even though it should have been open according to the opening times on the door Had lunch at the Black Bull pub. There was also a cafe and chippy. Maybe it is more lively in summer, we visited in November so maybe not a true assessment of the place.

There is a whisky distillery to visit just off the main road. 10 miles down the road there is a small railway line and mill to visit inbetween two quaint villages that both have castles and a bit of history. It is a good base for visiting Berwick on Tweed, Alnwick , Bamborough Castle, and along that particular coast line.

A small town with lots going for it. The Chocolate Box opposite the Black Bull is a fabulous sweets and chocolate shop. There is a bit of everything in Wooler, and it is set in the lovely countryside but only 30 minutes from the beautiful coast

Very nice Town.
Very nice Town. Looking for food, the Pub's left a little to be desired. One was Very pubby, we walked in looked around and walked out again, and the bar maid didn't speak! (Nor yet did we!!) the other one was similar, but just dirty tables and unorganized, so we walked out of that one. BUT, we are NOT pub people, so, maybe that has a bearing on our opinion? We ended up with fish and chips, and although the sitting down area was not open, they allowed us to sit in, so that was a bonus! And the food was good.

You can tell that this is a business run by someone who cares their customers have a good expereince. Ben was really helpful and a prompt communicator ahead of and during our stay. The room itself was lovely and just as described. We found it and gained access easily. The space is really nice and the facilities excellent. Wooler is a nice little town.
The hosts were really welcoming and looked after us. We felt right at home. Room was clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable. Location was brilliant in the heart of Wooler. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and when we told the host one of us was vegan, they went out of their way to accommodate with options. We would definitely go here again!
Excellent Northumberland breakfast cooked by the hosts, Warm welcome and a beautiful home. It's like sleeping in a manor. Very spacious room and bath, comfy bed. Wooler is a beautiful town full of activities. I'd recommend this place for a relaxing stay
